Chongming martyrs' hall is located in the east of Xinhe Town, south of Chenhai road. It was built in 1951, formerly known as martyrs' memorial tower. It was renamed Chongming martyrs' hall in 1957, covering an area of 14520 square meters. Among them: the building area is 1600 square meters, and the square area is 1920 square meters. Approved by Chongming County People's Government in June 1988, it was designated as "key martyr memorial building protection unit at county level". In 1995, through strict examination and on-the-spot inspection, the martyrs' hall was named "advanced unit of martyrs' memorial building management" by the Ministry of civil affairs of the people's Republic of China. With the continuous improvement of the martyrs' Museum infrastructure, "Chongming County youth education base" and "Chongming County national defense education base" were officially listed in the martyrs' Museum in 1996. In 2002, it won the honorary titles of "Chongming County youth protection advanced unit" and "Shanghai garden unit". In the reference room of Chongming martyrs' Museum, there are 427 martyrs' archives, 22 relics, 301 photos and pictures, and 50 volumes of documents. There are 427 martyrs on display in the exhibition room of revolutionary historical sites, including 255 photos, one oil painting and one traditional Chinese painting, 193 text descriptions, one half body sculpture and two whole body sculptures.

It marks a new step in the development of patriotism and revolutionary tradition education in our county.

There are 378 files of martyrs who died in different periods, 22 relics, 297 photos and 45 volumes of various documents and archives in the archives of martyrs' museum. Among them: some of the handwriting and relics of Lu Tieqiang, Yu Baoyuan and other famous martyrs who died in the second revolutionary civil war, the first to participate in the revolution in the county, as well as the handwriting, letters and relics of Huang Donghua, a newly placed famous martyr. Comrade Hu Jintao, then member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vice president of the state, and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and now general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the state, and chairman of the Central Military Commission, as well as the provincial and municipal leaders of the martyr, are also included in the preservation.

There are 378 martyrs, 297 photos, two oil paintings and two traditional Chinese paintings on display in the exhibition room of revolutionary deeds. There are 252 explanatory sections, as well as the special edition of martyr Huang Donghua and various honorary certificates and medals. These extremely precious materials and photos of martyrs are of great practical and far-reaching historical significance for us to further carry out the research on patriotism and revolutionary tradition education, stimulate the patriotic enthusiasm of young people, and enable them to establish a correct outlook on life, values and morality.

construction and development

The construction and development of our museum in the past 50 years can not be separated from the great attention of the previous Chongming County Party committee, Chongming County People's government and Chongming County Civil Affairs Bureau leaders. In the use of funds, we adopted the method of combining special funds and taking the lead in donation, and successively completed the following practical projects: (1) in October 1979, the county government allocated 44806.24 yuan for the construction of Chongming County Revolutionary Cemetery It should be used to deposit the ashes of retired cadres and dead soldiers. （2） In 1983, the county government allocated 50000 yuan to rebuild the monument to the martyrs. （3） In March 1990, the county government successively allocated more than 800000 yuan for the construction of a comprehensive office building and an exhibition room for revolutionary deeds. Comrade Han nianlong, the former Vice Foreign Minister who led the Anti Japanese war in Chongming, inscribed the name of the exhibition room. （4） In May 1993, initiated by the county Party committee and the county government, the Civil Affairs Bureau organized and implemented the activity of "learning from martyrs and offering love" in the whole county, with a total donation of 736000 yuan. Among them: 123 units with more than 1000 yuan donation and 60 individuals with more than 100 yuan donation were used to build gatehouses, sculptures, lotus pools, walls and greening projects. Chen Guodong, former Secretary of Shanghai municipal Party committee, inscribed the name of Chongming martyrs' hall. （5） Since 1999, the county government has allocated special funds for many times to purchase large flowerpots, stainless steel garbage cans, renovate the roof of Revolutionary Cemetery, repair the roof of revolutionary deeds exhibition room, improve the lotus pool, make government affairs publicity boards, warning signs, and purchase leather sofas, TV cabinets, carpets, VCD players, and replace curtains in the reception room, which has greatly improved the appearance of the martyrs' museum The great goal of "one change in one year, one change in three years" has been achieved, which has created favorable conditions for carrying out patriotism and revolutionary tradition education in our county.
