Dandanulike site

Located 90 kilometers north of damagou Township, Cele County, Dandan wulike site is a Tang Dynasty site. Most of the houses are built in Buddhist temples. The plan is in the shape of "Hui". There are statues of Buddha on the upper platform in the center, cloisters around the platform, murals on the walls of the cloisters, images of Bodhisattvas, little Thousand Buddhas, and inscriptions in Balo's inscriptions.

It is recorded in the documents that the period from the second year of Zhenyuan of Tang Dynasty to the middle of Tang Dynasty was the period of war and decline, loss of control over the western regions and invasion of Tubo forces. As an important site of the origin of Silk Road studies, the site was discovered by Sven heding, a Swedish geographer and explorer in 1896, and was announced as a key cultural relic protection unit in 2006.

From the content reflected in the Buddha statues and murals, the residents living here at that time believed in Mahayana Buddhism.

A large number of precious cultural relics have been unearthed here, including woodblock prints, ancient coins, numerous Chinese, Sanskrit, Khotan, and Brahmanic inscriptions. Among them, there are two world-famous prints, one is a rat head God protected by a halo, and the other is two groups of characters. 2015 supplement: Dandan Urick was not discovered by Professor swinholding, but by British archaeologist Stein, who was commissioned by the Indian government to investigate the hinterland of Asia in 1900 and discovered Dandan Urick in the middle and late December of 1900. (the biggest discovery of Swedish archaeologist professor swinholding is Loulan)
