Heilongjiang Sanjiang natural wetland reserve is located at the intersection of Heilongjiang and Wusuli rivers, Fuyuan County, Jiamusi, about 400 km away from Harbin, and in the northeast corner of China. It is the confluence triangle of Heilongjiang and Wusuli rivers. Sanjiang Nature Reserve has more than 50 rivers, more than 200 Lake bubbles, 26 Jiangxin islands, swamps and rich wildlife resources. Heilongjiang Sanjiang Nature Reserve has been approved by the International Bureau of wetlands to be listed in the "list of international important wetlands". Since its establishment in 1993, the nature reserve has gone up three steps and become a wetland type nature reserve with great influence at home and abroad.

In the second half of the 20th century, the Sanjiang Plain was developed on a large scale. Although it contributed to the national food supply, a large area of wetland was destroyed.

In 1994, Heilongjiang provincial government approved the establishment of "Heilongjiang Sanjiang provincial nature reserve".

In 1995, the administration of Sanjiang Provincial Nature Reserve was established. The staff of the nature reserve live in the open, inspect the wetland, determine the ownership and delimit the boundaries.

Finally, a wetland reserve with a total area of 198100 hectares was built along Heilongjiang and Wusuli rivers, including more than 66000 hectares of core area, nearly 30000 hectares of buffer area and more than 104000 hectares of experimental area. Sanjiang natural wetland reserve

In April 2000, Sanjiang Nature Reserve was approved by the State Council to be promoted to a national nature reserve. A comprehensive scientific research office building was built, and a large number of scientific research facilities and forest fire prevention equipment were purchased.

The reserve has been approved by the International Bureau of wetlands to be listed in the "list of international important wetlands" and joined the ranks of world protected areas, creating good conditions for international assistance.

The nature reserve has received 18 sets of automatic office equipment, cameras, satellite positioning system, patrol boats, etc. funded by the International China wetland (GEF) project, further enhancing the function of the nature reserve.

Protect achievements

Due to the illegal act of hunting, the wetland has been obviously restored and preserved, and the biodiversity has become more apparent.

Lotus flowers, which have not been seen for many years, are blooming in the wetland lake. Oriental White Stork, Red Crowned Crane and other wildlife under state key protection are increasing year by year, especially the rare bird Chinese merganser, which has not been seen for many years, has been found.

In Sanjiang wetland reserve, wild geese, ducks and mandarin ducks play in groups in the water; red crowned cranes and golden eagles fight in the sky; red deer and roe deer rush to forage on the grassland; a large area of Cinnamomum camphora rustles in the wind, which adds vitality to the wetland.
