WULAGAI grass is named because of WULAGAI river. It is located at the junction of Xilinguole League, Xing'an League and Tongliao City. It has a wide variety of animals and plants, and has the reputation of "Tianbian Grassland".

The usable area of grassland is 4350.53 square kilometers, mainly composed of 2, 3, 4 and so on. Among them, the yield of grassland belongs to 3, 4, 5 grades. The overall performance of grassland quality is good, and the yield is medium high. There are various plant types, including 501 species of 62 families, mainly Gramineae and Leguminosae, with excellent forage species. In addition to excellent forage, there are more wild plants with different values, and there are more medicinal plants in China and Mongolia, mainly including rhubarb, Platycodon grandiflorum, liquorice, bupleurum, etc. Wild animals include yellow goat, prairie wolf, camel, fox, badger, hare, etc.

Historical evolution

WULAGAI grassland is not only famous for its beauty, but also rich in historical and cultural resources. The confluence of WULAGAI River and its tributary, seyeleji River, is a famous ancient battlefield site. According to the records, Genghis Khan completely annihilated the Tatar tribe, the once invincible enemy, in the battle of unifying Mongolia, clearing a huge obstacle for the great cause of unifying Mongolia.

WULAGAI grassland is located in the northeast of Xilin Gol League in Inner Mongolia, adjacent to Huolin gol city in the south, Aershan city in the northeast, Shenyang, Changchun, Harbin and other big cities in the northeast. It is a county-level administrative region under the executive banner of Xilin Gol League. With a total land area of 5013 square kilometers, Bayinhushu town is the political, economic and cultural center and transportation hub of the management area.

WULAGAI grassland belongs to semi humid and semi-arid continental climate with low temperature and long winter. The annual average temperature is - 0.9 ℃. The annual average effective accumulated temperature ≥ 10 ℃ is 1900-2100 ℃, the relative effective annual sunshine hours is 2700h, and the sunshine percentage is 61%. The frost free period is 90-110 days, with great annual variation. The average annual precipitation is 342.5mm, mostly concentrated in June / July / August, with the same period of water and heat. The annual evaporation is 1552.1 mm, and the annual average wind speed is 4.1 M / s.

hydrology

WULAGAI River, the second largest inland river in China, and its tributary seyeleji river run through the whole territory, with 12 lakes and 23 springs.

WULAGAI grassland is the best preserved natural grassland in the world. It belongs to the transition zone from forest grassland to typical grassland. It is mainly typical grassland, with an available area of 4618 square kilometers. There are many kinds of animals and plants, more than 500 kinds of wild plants.

In 2013, the average height of vegetation was 29.7 cm, the average coverage was 80.5%, the average fresh grass yield was 259.2 kg / mu, and the hay yield was 115 kg / mu. Compared with the same period, each index increased by 0.3 cm, 0.9%, 2.1 kg / mu, and 1.1 kg / mu respectively.

Travel

In the territory, there are unique grassland scenery and natural landscape such as primitive grassland, lake, wetland, birch forest, shaoyaogou, Huanghuagou, historical and cultural relics such as Bulin temple, nongnaimiao, Genghis Khan sidewall, gulabusai Khan international Oboo, and unique Mongolian folk customs and culture of Ujimqin tribe.

Due to the good grassland ecology of uragai grassland, the film "Wolf Totem" directed by French director Jean Jacques Arnold and starred by Feng Shaofeng and Dou Xiao was set here

Traffic conditions

In terms of transportation, provincial highway S101, which connects the cities in the northern part of the autonomous region and runs through the East and West, runs through the whole territory, and all the roads leading to the surrounding huolingole City, Xing'an League, Arshan City, Baiyinhua mining area and zhungadabuqi port are opened.
