Yangdu Temple

Yangdu temple, formerly known as yandularang zacang temple, is located in honggelgaole Town, Abaga banner, Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The surrounding area of Yangdu temple is rich in water and grass, humid in air, crisscross with springs and rivers, and the scenery is very beautiful.

brief introduction

It was built in 1864 in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, and was named "Shishan Temple" by the Qing government. Yangdu temple is one of the few temples in Ximeng and the only one in Abaga banner that still maintains religious activities. Yangdu Temple consists of three parts: big temple, small temple and que RI hall. The building area of the temple is 449.44 square meters, which is divided into two layers. It is of gray brick and tile structure. There are more than 1000 kinds of copper and silver Buddha statues, sacrifices, musical instruments and other treasures in the temple. Every year, a temple fair is held in June of the lunar calendar. The temple's host, quexi luozangwadan longroujiacuo, was born in guide County, Qinghai Province in 1934. He was 67 years old in Yuanji, Beijing on November 21, 2001. Now Yangdu temple is a cultural relic protection unit at the autonomous region level.

history

Yangdu temple was developed from a chanting Association in Abaga. In 1864, that is, the third year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty, zasak, the king of the banner, took a fancy to the beautiful land and established the temple near Abaga. At that time, the Qing government granted the name of "Shishan Temple" and 25 Dudies (lamas with establishment and salary). There were more than 300 monks, covering an area of 3053 square meters. It was expanded in 1921, covering an area of 3600 square meters. At its peak, there were 813 lamas, including 500 permanent lamas. It is a temple that lamas in the North yearn for. So far, it is well preserved, with 13 buildings, forming a complete temple complex. There are main temple, Zhao Temple, side temple, bell and Drum Tower, King Kong temple and other buildings, more than 1000 Buddha statues, sacrifices and musical instruments, and more than 800 monks. In the center of dahongyuan is the main temple. On both sides of the gate in front of the main temple are bell and Drum Tower, maharenzi Temple (King Kong Temple), etc. In order to celebrate the completion of the temple, the Xilin Gol League administrative office held a Nadam meeting of five ten banners at the site of Yangdu temple. The meeting was presided over by chaussi lozangwadan longrou Gyatso, who was recognized as the fourth generation of living Buddha in 1936. As a result, Yangdu temple is also well-known, and has become the holy land of the five ministries and ten banners of Ximeng. During the cultural revolution, Yangdu temple was destroyed and only the three main halls survived.

present situation

In 1980, religious activities resumed in Yangdu temple. In 1988, Xilin Gol League administrative office and Abaga banner government successively allocated 130000 yuan to repair the temple.
