Shimentou village was built in Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty. Because a huge stone was found during the construction of the village, which was similar to the lintel, it was named shimentou village. The former shimentou village is now under the jurisdiction of banzhuang Town, Ganyu County, Jiangsu Province.

The stone in front of the village is like a gate. The village committee is located in the fourth village of shimentou and has jurisdiction over the second, third and fourth villages of shimentou. With a total area of 4.5 square kilometers, 65 hectares of cultivated land, more than 1000 households and 3575 people.

Shimentou village can be divided into houshimentou village, qianshimentou village and shimentou new village. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the coastal residents moved in, and the surnames of Wang, yuan and Hu moved in one after another, gradually forming an important agricultural market town at the junction of Jiangsu and Shandong.

In the former shimentou village, shimentou river passes through the border, adjacent to Linshu County in Shandong Province in the west, North and south, and adjacent to wangzhufan village and Banlu village in Donghai County in Jiangsu Province in the East.
