Lotus Peak

Lianhua peak, the highest peak in Huangshan Scenic Area, is the first of 36 peaks with an altitude of 1864.8 meters. It is located between yupinglou and aoyufeng. Lianhua peak ascends 5 Li, with a relative height of 110 meters. In 1997, lianhuagou opened a new 500m climbing Road, which is composed of pedaling Road, trestle and viewing platform.

The lotus peak is precipitous and magnificent. Because the main peak is abrupt and surrounded by small peaks, it looks like a new lotus is blooming, so it is called "lotus peak". "Starting from the peak, the gentle slope is called" Lotus stem ", which passes through four stone caves in the middle. The ancients called it" Lotus hole ". The cave stands steeply, and the visitors step on top of each other. If they walk through the lotus hole, it's like "turning ants out of the calyx". Along the way, the scenery is fantastic, and there are cliff inscriptions such as "good nature", "not human", "worthy of the name", "the wonder of heaven and sea" between the peaks and walls. In the Ming Dynasty, Wu Xu once wrote a poem praising: "a kind of green lotus spits out crimson clouds, and it is graceful and flawless. From a distance, you can see the clouds rolling in the sky, revealing the flowers at the top of the mountain In the Qing Dynasty, Wu Mengyin also wrote a poem: "the lotus peak is so beautiful that it's called Zun. If you want to shout" Dadi ", you can see it. When you look up at the mountains and rivers, you look down like children and grandchildren. When the wind blows, the geese will be offered, and when the sun sets, the ape will be hung on the rocks. Although I can reach it, I can't say it. " Connecting lianhualing and lianhuafeng is a one and a half kilometer long winding path, which takes four caves before reaching the peak.

There are many pine trees like flying dragon or double dragon on Lianhua peak, as well as the famous Huangshan Azalea.

A tour of lotus

In his travel notes, Xu Xiake said: Lianhua peak "lives in Huangshan Mountain and stands alone on all peaks" and "even the capital of heaven bows its head". It was a remarkable discovery at that time that he could draw such a correct conclusion only by visual observation. He is the first person to point out that Lianhua peak is the highest peak of Huangshan.

There are some strange pines on the lotus peak, such as flying dragon, upside down and so on. In 1997, a new 500m climbing Road was opened up in lianhuagou, which is composed of pedaling Road, trestle and viewing platform.

The top of the cliff is more than Zhang Yuan, which is called "stone boat". There is a pool in it, which is called "Xiangsha pool". Climbing to the top of the mountain is like standing in the sky, the river line, the sky and the clouds, all in the distance. On a sunny day, you can look east at Tianmu, West at kuanglu, and North at Jiuhua and the Yangtze River. Sunny after rain, the sea of clouds in all directions, very spectacular.

It is said that the ancient peak often has "Tianma" around. Another wonder of the lotus peak is that all kinds of locks are hung on the iron ropes around the summit. It is a heart lock that young lovers or couples put together to show that they are united forever. Huangshan heart lock is not only locked at the top of the peak, but also can be seen everywhere on almost all the guardrail chains. There are not only two "concentric locks" that are locked together in the chain, but also "family photo locks" that are different in size and interconnected with each other, and "long life locks" that family members specially fasten for children.

In the fourth year of song Xianchun (1268), Shexian people, Wu Longhan, the editor and editor of the national history academy, Sheren, JINGDING Jinshi, Bao Yunlong, Sheren, and song Fuyi, the literati, took three days to reach the peak with their own dry food in autumn and winter. Later, he wrote a travel to Huangshan Mountain, which is the earliest extant text to visit Lianhua peak. The three of them also became the first people to climb Lianhua peak. They spend the night at the top of the lotus peak. The frost and the moon wash the sky. They play the iron flute wildly and sing the chapter of immortality. In his poem, long Han said, "the sound of an iron flute before dawn blows the clouds of thirty-six peaks.".

There is also a magical story about Lianhua peak: it is said that a long time ago, master Guanyin was ordered by the Buddha to visit the earth. When she arrived at Huangshan Mountain in the clouds, she was warmly welcomed by mountain god, water god, Flower God, fairy ape and hundred birds.

Seeing the strange mountains and beautiful waters, the clouds and the trees, and the hospitable friends, Guanyin lingered for a long time, unwilling to leave, forgetting the solemn and lonely "heavenly palace". One day, the Buddha sent a "Raven messenger" to urge Guanyin to return to the West.

Guanyin did not want to comply with the order, so the Buddha sent monks to arrest her and punish her. Without showing weakness, Guanyin immediately took out his magic weapon, dipped the willow branch in the water in the net bottle and waved it to the other side. The monks knew that Dharma water was powerful. Once they touched their bodies, their skin burned and their flesh rotted immediately, so they did not dare to get close to them. In addition, Huangshan Mountain God, water god, Flower God, fairy ape, hundred birds and so on all contributed to the battle of Guanyin. Therefore, a fierce battle made all monks flee. The Tathagata had no choice but to give down the "Buddha's edict" and expel her from the west, ordering her to live in the dangerous South China Sea forever. So people call her "Nanhai Guanyin". In fact, Guanyin didn't take the Tathagata's "imperial edict" seriously at all, and let her live in Nanhai. She preferred to live in her beloved Huangshan. Fearing that the Tathagata would be harassed again, Guanyin turned the lotus throne into a magnificent and beautiful peak, which was later called lotus peak.

Opening Hours

In order to effectively and naturally recuperate the ecology of Huangshan scenic spot and realize sustainable development, Xihai Grand Canyon, Lianhua peak and Tiandu peak will enter the maintenance period every winter and spring (December 1 to the end of March next year). Lianhua peak and Tiandu peak are open in turn, and the rotation cycle is five years.

Lianhua peak will enter a five-year rest period from April 1, 2024, when Tiandu peak will be reopened.
