Big Cat Island

Big cat island used to be the resident of the people's Government of big cat Township, Dinghai District, Zhejiang Province. It is located 9.8 kilometers southwest of dinghaicheng District, 3.85 kilometers away from Daxie Island in Beilun District of Ningbo City. The land area is 6.18 square kilometers, the highest point of wushiyan is 332 meters above sea level, and the coastline is 14.45 kilometers long.

The world's tallest power transmission tower is located on Big Cat Island.

Development history

It's like a sleeping cat, so it's called big cat. Folklore: in ancient times, there was a god man who wanted to pull Zhoushan Island to the mainland, but he was not seen through. In order to prevent the "boat" from drifting far away, he dropped two anchors, one is the "big anchor" and the other is the "small anchor". "Anchor" and "cat" are homonymous, hence the name of big cat mountain and nearby little cat mountain. In addition, the mountain mouth at the southern end of big cat mountain is cat mouth, and there is a torrent vortex outside the mountain mouth. Fishing boats often capsize when passing through the mountain mouth, which is thought that cats want to eat fish. The coastline twists and turns, and Cape Bay alternates. Buckwheat head, pear head and peanut are the specialty of big cat.

During the period of the Republic of China, big cat Island belonged to Panshi township. Damao township was established in March 1954, and was withdrawn in 2001 and merged into Huannan street. There are three administrative villages in the island. At the end of 2000, there were 603 households and 1754 people living in the sea area. In 2009, big cat xiaonan'ao built a high-voltage iron tower leading to the mainland, and the economy of big cat island will be well-off.

Since 2009, the government has contributed to the development of big cats, which may be sold to the state. The current housing compensation has determined the price.
