history

Guizhou Ethnic Culture Palace is an institution under Guizhou Ethnic Affairs Committee. According to the spirit of No.13 document issued by the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and No.34 document issued by the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, the Preparatory Office of Guizhou national culture palace was established. In August 2000, the main building was officially listed. The foundation laying ceremony was held on December 28, 2000. The construction of the main building was officially started in January 2002 and capped on August 29, 2003. In December 2006, the construction and decoration of the main building of Guizhou national culture palace were basically completed. In May 2007, the main building officially passed the project acceptance and gradually put into use.

Architectural features

Guizhou Ethnic Culture Palace, located directly opposite the Zhucheng square in Guiyang, is an antique building with obvious style in the urban area. It is a window to understand Guizhou's multi-ethnic culture. The main body of the building is built according to the appearance of the Drum Tower of Dong Nationality in Guizhou. The outline curves are all in the architectural style of ethnic minorities, with three trigeminal arcs. From each side, it looks like the Chinese character "mountain", indicating the mountainous terrain of Guizhou, implying the multi-ethnic Province out of the mountain. The main body is antique, the theme is to save national culture, and not far away from the long history of Jiaxiu building and the city square opposite the road, is the combination of ancient and present. Although the designer said that the main body of the building is an antique Dong Drum Tower, some people still think that the National Palace looks like a bottle of essential oil. The relief on the exterior wall of the building is a traditional program of 19 ethnic minorities living in Guizhou: the torch festival of the Yi nationality, the song of the Dong nationality, the Lusheng festival of the Miao nationality and so on. The pillars of the entrance hall are also carved with ethnic minority style patterns, and the top four directions are cattle with long horns. There is a giant compass in the center of the hall. There are words about Guizhou's multi-ethnic culture. On the wall behind the compass are reliefs of ethnic minorities marching forward.

In 2019, Guizhou Ethnic Culture Palace was announced by the general office of Guiyang Municipal People's government as the first batch of historical buildings in the central city of Guiyang.

After years of accumulation, Guizhou national culture palace has accumulated a large number of valuable materials and documents, including documents, pictures, audio-visual materials, multimedia materials and so on. Since the establishment of Guizhou Ethnic Culture Palace in 1985, it has carried out relevant business activities while carrying out preliminary project preparation work.
