Hulushan cliff stone carving is located in Hulushan, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province. Hulu mountain was formerly known as Gen mountain. Because there is a West Lake at the foot of the mountain, it is also known as Hu mountain or west lake mountain. Hulu mountain is not only a scenic tourist resort, but also a gathering place of cliff carvings. The mountains are full of craggy rocks and strange rocks, which either rise from the ground, or are towering and abrupt, or the cliffs are cut off, or the waves are near the water, leaving a good place for the poets and poets. It can be said that every rock must be engraved, no stone without inscription. Since the Song Dynasty, it has been accumulated in all dynasties and has been a grand sight. Although it has gone through disasters, it still has 138 titles, including 16 titles in Song Dynasty, 1 Title in Yuan Dynasty, 24 titles in Ming Dynasty, 28 titles in Qing Dynasty, 18 titles in modern times and 48 Titles with unknown age. The contents of these stone carvings include praising the lake and mountain, expressing feelings, recording the whereabouts, as well as important events, imperial examination titles and official notices. The fonts include Zhen, Cao, Li, Zhuan and Xing. Among them, the more prominent ones are: Song Dynasty's carving of "release", "inverted scene", "Yu Xianqing's burial of his wife", "re opening the West Lake", and the huge cliff "picture of lake and mountain" with a diameter of nearly two meters.

In July 1962, the people's Committee of Guangdong Province announced it as a cultural relic protection unit.

There are 138 existing stone carvings, which are one of the three famous Moyan stone carvings in Guangdong Province.

Some praise the lake and mountain, some express their indolence, some record their travels, and some important events. The characters are grass, seal and xingxibei. Among them, the outstanding ones are: Li Gong Ting, which was engraved in the third year of emperor Dezong of Tang Dynasty (787 A.D.); Fangsheng, Daojing and guying cave, which were engraved in Song Dynasty; Hushan picture, which was engraved in the guangnian of Qing Dynasty; Bai Yingfu, which was written by Han tuizhi of Tang Dynasty; Yu Xianqing's burial of his wife, which was written by Yu Xianqing, the prefect of Chaozhou in the fourth year of emperor Zhenzong of Northern Song Dynasty (1020); and Su Shi's The stele of hanwengong temple in changlibo, Chaozhou, is written by Yu Xueqian as "the happiest for the good"; it is written by Chen Yuqiang as "looking at the eye"; it is written by a poem on the stone wall of the West Lake: "the water and the mountain do not enter the picture, and sure enough, the West Lake is better than the West Lake. The famous district is self-sufficient and has been handed down through the ages. He Yong, who is in charge of the District, is a great treasure. It has become an excellent work of art for tourists to speculate and comment on. Stone carvings are concentrated in Shouan rock in the north of Hulushan mountain and qingniu cave in the south. It is a scenic spot of the ancient city "Hulushan cliff stone carvings". There is a Nanyan temple on the southern hillside of Hulushan mountain. The temple and the stone carvings are integrated with each other. The mountains are beautiful and the bamboo is green.

 

At the top of Hulushan mountain, there is a section of hushanyao city about 200 meters long, one foot high and six feet wide, which was built by Liu Jinzhong, commander in chief of Chaozhou, during the anti Qing period from the 13th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign (1673) to the 16th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign.
