Sino Russian Trade Zone

On April 12, 1992, the State Council agreed to establish a Sino Russian Manchuria post Baikalsk border trade zone. This is the only inter state Trade Zone in China approved by the State Council so far. The mutual trade zone is located at the west end of Manzhouli City, 1 km northeast of the country gate.

Brief introduction of the trade zone

It is connected with the urban area in the East and the border line between China and Russia in the northwest, with a planned area of 11.8 square kilometers. There are railway and highway ports connecting with Russia.

Five districts with different functions and different emphases have been set up in the mutual trade zone, namely, closed free trade zone, commercial and financial zone, bonded storage zone, industrial duty-free processing zone and service recreation zone. On January 18, 1996, the closed free trade zone was opened, and Russian tourists come here every day for shopping; the mutual trade zone across the Russian border is under construction. In the shopping market of the mutual trade zone, I am in the same place with Russian tourists. I listen to them "bargain" with Chinese vendors, watch them shopping in small packages, and "talk" with them with gestures, as if I am in a foreign country.
