Marine Aquarium

The large-scale marine aquarium is the largest tourism and cultural joint venture project in Shanghai and one of the largest marine aquariums in Asia. The whole building is composed of two main buildings, the aquarium and the auxiliary building. The shape of the building, like Pyramid, will become a landmark building in Shanghai with the Oriental Pearl.

Shanghai ocean aquarium is located in the Lujiazui financial and trade center of Pudong, adjacent to the famous Oriental Pearl Tower, Jinmao Tower, Pearl Park, Binjiang Avenue, Huangpu River north, and the bustling Puxi the Bund across the river. It will be a golden area for tourism, shopping and sightseeing in Pudong area, and will become a multi-functional tourism and Leisure Spot integrating tourism, entertainment and popular science education in Shanghai. It is the largest modern marine aquarium in Asia. It is adjacent to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Jinmao Tower. It is another landmark cultural tourist spot in Pudong. The aquarium covers an area of about 13000 square meters, with a total construction area of more than 20000 square meters. It is known as "the second aquarium in the world and the first aquarium in Asia".

"Across five continents through the world of water" is the exhibition theme of Shanghai Ocean Aquarium. There are 28 large-scale theme biological exhibition areas in the museum, which are divided into eight exhibition areas: Asia, South America (Amazon), Australia, Africa, cold water, polar, seawater and deep ocean. More than 300 species from five continents and four oceans, more than 10000 rare fish and endangered rare creatures are displayed. Among them, the most distinctive are poisonous arrow frog, jellyfish, Mola, yehailong, emperor penguin, albino perch, etc.

The aquarium also has four of the world's largest undersea tunnels, with a total length of 168 meters. The unique automatic pedestrian undersea tunnel, 180 degree and 270 degree omni-directional landscape windows make tourists feel personally.

Daily business

Time: 9:00-18:00, ticket selling and entry: 17:30.

In July and August, the business hours of summer vacation, golden week of November and Spring Festival are adjusted to 09:00-21:00, and ticket sales and admission end at 20:30.

Annual card price list

In the family annual card (including two adults and a child over 1.4 meters and under 16 years old), 200 yuan will be charged for each additional child under 16 years old, with a maximum of two additional children per card.

Parking lot

A total of 50 parking spaces are open to the public, charging 10 yuan per hour, and 5 yuan per half hour after more than one hour. The parking space rental fee is 900 yuan / month, and the monthly rental fee will be reduced to 750 yuan / month for more than 6 months.

Tourists can take subway line 2, get off at Lujiazui Station and walk 200 meters to Shanghai Ocean Aquarium. Line 2 can reach the center of the city. The marine aquarium is only a short distance from the Nanjing road pedestrian street.

Theme exhibition area

China proper

Shanghai marine aquarium is the only aquarium in the world with an independent Chinese exhibition area to display aquatic organisms unique to China. Most of the organisms displayed are national protected animals, including Acipenser sinensis, Myxocyprinus asiaticus, Alligator sinensis and giant salamander (giant salamander).

South America
