Maqu Grassland

Located in Maqu County in the southwest of the Autonomous Prefecture, the Yellow River enters from the southwest and then leaves from the northwest on the grassland of more than 10000 square kilometers, forming the largest bend in the nine curves. In the first song of the beautiful and rich Yellow River, there are many fascinating and unforgettable grassland landscapes, of which ximeiduohetang (meaning Huatan) is one.

Ximeiduohetang is located in oulaxiuma Township, 120 kilometers west of Maqu County. It is a flat River Valley beach, stretching for tens of kilometers. By the middle of July every year, the whole beach is full of neat and flat Trollius flowers. On the horse riding beach, there is a touch of golden dust under the horse's hooves. The fragrance of the hooves is self-evident. In August, the Golden Lotus quietly retreats, and is replaced by the sky blue gentian. The whole flower beach is blue, and the beach connects with the sky. In October, the top of the surrounding mountains is already covered with snow, but here it is replaced by spotted Ranunculus. This is the three wonders of ximedo Hetang.

Maqu County is called "Mamai" in ancient times. It means the confluence of Maqu and maiqu (the Yellow River and the Heihe River). It is the place where Gesar was exiled when he was young. It is also the place where his mother Guo Mu and his wife Chu Mu chose the Eastern god horse, Shenzhi red rabbit horse.

In addition, there are distinctive grasslands such as malizhaxitan, jinmuduozhaxitan and songger. Malizhaxi beach is eight kilometers away from the county seat, flat and wide. When summer comes, some traditional religious activities and mass sports activities are held here. At that time, there will be a lot of grass, white tents, herdsmen dressed in national costumes and horses.
