Zhuangyuandi was originally called "baoyantang", which was built by Xiang kuizhuangzhu in the 59th year of Kangxi. Later, his son Pei was renamed zhuangyuandi because he was the first one in the 19th year of Qianlong.

It is located in the section from mashanbu to baiyuandu, connecting chengquanxiang in the north. In front of the gate, there are Zhaobi and shuidock, and inside there are Qiyu hall, ciyan hall and Weihui hall. The eldest son Zhuang, who was the founder of the school of modern prose in the Qing Dynasty, was an official in the imperial examination in the 10th year of Qianlong.

It is the old place name of Changzhou.
