Machao hot spring area is located in the middle of machaoxi Valley and above the machao bridge of Yangjin highway. It is one of the geothermal springs in Yangming Mountain area. It is a volcanic hot spring with spout source and yellow crystal near the water outlet.

In the southwest of Yangjin highway, the upstream is machao hot spring, and in the northeast of Yangjin highway, the downstream is Qigu hot spring; the volcanic hot spring activity in machao hot spring area is very strong, and the road surface is damaged repeatedly because of its close proximity to Yangjin highway.

Machao hot spring contains iron, barium and other minerals. It belongs to the "White Sulfur" spring similar to that in dashunzui, xiaoyoukeng and other places. The quality of the spring belongs to the white sulfur spring. It is rich in water and lasts for four seasons. The water quality is acid sulfate chloride spring, pH value is about 2 ~ 4, the maximum temperature can reach 99 ° C; the hot spring water is yellow, gray, translucent, with sulfur smell, can not be drunk. It has the effect of treating shoulder ache, rheumatism, skin allergy, eliminating fatigue, promoting blood circulation, relaxing tendons and activating bones.

In addition to hot springs, Yangmingshan has many beautiful sceneries and many scenic spots. From October to December, Miscanthus blooms all over the mountain area, with a hazy beauty. The view of the mangao bridge is magnificent. At night, the bridge body looks resplendent under the light, and it is most suitable to enjoy the night view in the evening.
