Xu Bangda Art Museum

In 2002, Xu Bangda and his wife Teng Fang donated their paintings and calligraphy to their hometown. In recognition of their noble sentiment of patriotism and love for their hometown, the CPC Haining Municipal Committee and the Haining Municipal People's Government specially built the "Xu Bangda Art Museum" at the south foot of the beautiful Ziwei mountain.

The museum was completed and opened on September 15, 2003. "The painting of birds and rabbits in autumn" by Xu Bangda is the original painting of birds and rabbits in autumn. It was originally collected by Xu Bangda's family and is now stored in the Palace Museum in Beijing. The heart length of the painting is 136 cm and the width is 63 cm. On paper, a magpie is painted on the top and a black rabbit is painted on the bottom, with hibiscus flowers as the lining. This is Xu Bangda's most satisfactory work.

Xu Bangda is in Li Sheng's Wei Mo Shuo Tu, which is a paper version. This one was written by Xu Bangda in his thirties. Xu Bangda wrote a postscript in small regular script at the end of the scroll, which briefly describes the origin and development of Chinese painting. There is also a long postscript by Wu Hufan, which Chen julai once said was true to life.

Special activities

Academic symposiums and lectures are held at least 15 times a year in cooperation with the temporary exhibition. The number of participants is about 20000, which is highly praised by the general public.
