Martyr Liu Ying cemetery
Located at the foot of Matou Mountain in Fangyan scenic spot, Yongkang, Jinhua, a national scenic spot, martyr Liu Ying cemetery is built to commemorate Comrade Liu Ying who has practiced the oath of "making revolution with all his heart, never looking back". The cemetery is an important place for cadres and young students to receive patriotism and national defense education.
Development history
Martyr Liu Ying cemetery is located at the foot of Matou Mountain in Fangyan scenic spot of Yongkang, Zhejiang Province. The cemetery was built in 1953, rebuilt in 1982 and named "martyr Liu Ying cemetery" in 1988. Nie Rongzhen inscribed the name of the cemetery. The cemetery was expanded in 1992. Now the total area of the cemetery is 50 mu, with a collection of tombs, museums, steles and pavilions. There are tombs of martyrs Liu Ying, Zhang Guiqing and Yongkang. General Su Yu wrote a tombstone for martyr Liu Ying. Stone fence, stone slab, solemn, standing in front of the tomb, the meaning of respect arises spontaneously. The cemetery is the place where Liu Ying and Zhang Guiqing died. There is a place where they died to commemorate. The revolutionary memorial hall covers a total area of 1164.5 square meters, with a construction area of 661.75 square meters. The ancient garden style buildings are built according to the slope.
In 1953, the people's Government of Yongkang county built the tomb of martyr Liu Ying in Fangyan and rebuilt it in 1982. In April 1991, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level.
Cemetery layout
Martyr Liu Ying cemetery is located at the foot of Matou Mountain. The road close to the highway is 6.5 meters wide and 62 meters long. It is paved with stones and gradually rises according to the terrain, leading to the mausoleum. The flat altar in front of the tomb is 18.3 meters long and 20.4 meters wide, paved with stones, simple and solemn. The base of the tomb is a platform type, also paved with stones, 10.16 meters long and 20.15 meters wide. It is connected with the Pingtan by a footpath. The lower part of the tomb is made of stone, the upper part is filled with earth and covered with turf, and the stone railings are built around the tomb. In the middle is the tomb of martyr Liu Ying. In front of the tomb stands a stone tablet, 2.28 meters high and 1.14 meters wide, engraved with "the tomb of martyr Liu Ying, Secretary of Zhejiang provincial Party committee of the Communist Party of China", written by Comrade Su Yu. On the left and right sides are the tombstone chambers of Zhang Guiqing, Secretary of the special committee of the Communist Party of China in Quzhou, and the revolutionary martyrs of the sixth detachment of Yongkang

In the cemetery, there are many ancient trees, tall and straight pines and cypresses, quiet environment and solemn atmosphere. On the north side of the tomb Road, there is a memorial Pavilion for martyr Liu Ying.
The whole cemetery covers an area of more than 50 mu. "Martyr Liu Ying's cemetery" inscribed by Marshal Nie Rongzhen on the foyer is solemn and solemn. It is an ideal base for paying homage to revolutionary martyrs, carrying out revolutionary tradition education and patriotism education, and welcomes thousands of admirers every year.
Introduction to martyrs
Martyr Liu Ying (1903-1942) was born in Ruijin, Jiangxi Province. He joined the workers' and peasants' Red Army in 1927 and joined the party in 1929. He served successively as director of the Political Department of the seventh Red Army Corps, political commissar of the division, special commissioner of Zhejiang, Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, member of central China Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of Zhejiang provincial Party committee, etc. In February 1942, due to the betrayal of the traitor, he was unfortunately arrested in Wenzhou and detained in the temporary residence of the Zhejiang provincial government of the Kuomintang. Comrade Liu Ying was tortured in prison. He was always unyielding and showed the lofty quality of a communist. On May 18 of the same year, on the eve of the provincial government's hasty move to the south, Zhang Guiqing and Zhang Guiqing were killed under a red maple tree at the foot of Matou Mountain.
Educational significance
The revolutionary memorial hall in martyr Liu Ying's cemetery covers a total area of 1164.5 square meters, with a construction area of 661.75 square meters. The ancient garden style buildings are built according to the slope. Chen Pixian, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, wrote the name of the museum. There are three exhibition halls in the memorial hall, with Liu Ying, Zhang Guiqing and Yongkang party history as the preface. There are steles, corridors and screen walls attached. The ground is paved with bluestone slabs, which is simple and elegant, and has a strong national style. Martyr Liu Ying cemetery is the patriotism education base of Zhejiang Province and the national defense education base of Zhejiang Province. Every year, tomb sweeping people come in an endless stream on Tomb Sweeping Day, July day and holidays. Today, the cemetery has become a place to pay homage to revolutionary martyrs and carry out revolutionary tradition education and patriotism education. In September 2005, it was named as the classic red tour scenic spot of Zhejiang Province by the Communist Youth League Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Zhejiang Provincial Tourism Bureau.
