Dongpo well

Dongpo well is located on baihefeng, East District of Huizhou City. It is an important site where Su Shi (Dongpo), a literary giant of the Northern Song Dynasty, lived in Huizhou. It is well preserved now. According to historical records, in 1096, Su Shi bought several mu of land in baihefeng, where he "built 20 houses and planned to die.". The next year, Su Shi moved into his new house. Because the land is high and the water is far away, Su Shi hired someone to dig a well and wrote a poem to record: "today, the servants are happy, and the loess can be kneaded again. In the morning the bottle gets the snow, in the evening the urn stops the ice. It's hard for me to live like this. A spoonful is a gift. There are more joys in the curved humerus. The wellhead of Dongpo well is 0.6m wide and 14.5m deep. The wall of the well is made of green bricks, with a simple appearance. Beside the well, there is a well fence, and there is a stone inscription with the word "BINGTUAN" written by Guan Huaishu, a famous scholar in 1750.
