The Yellow River National Geological Museum is located in the Yellow River Geological Park in Zhengzhou. It is a comprehensive geological museum integrating popular science education, scientific research, specimen collection, viewing and entertainment.

Development history

The main building area of the Yellow River National Geological Museum is 5829.3 square meters. It was founded in June 2007 and completed in April 2009 and opened to the outside world.

Collection

At present, nearly 80 specimens are collected in the museum, including more than 20 kinds of geological minerals with scientific research significance, such as rare ores such as pyrite, stibnite, malachite, etc.; 16 kinds of loess classification, such as ancient soil, coarse clay calcareous nodules, etc.; and nearly 40 kinds of ethnic costumes with Central Plains characteristics.

Zhengzhou Yellow River Geological Museum covers an exhibition area of more than 4000 square meters, including loess hall, Yellow River hall, Huanghuai exhibition hall, VIP reception hall, sightseeing elevator hall and multimedia hall, ecological garden, Dahe square, etc. With the theme of Yellow River, loess and Yellow River culture, the exhibition shows the formation and evolution process of Yellow River, loess, Loess Plateau and Huang Huai plain through high-tech means. Through sound, light and electricity technology, gusts of strong wind come from the yellowing sky, and then the sky is dim and the ground is dark, and the dense fog like dust comes out, which makes people feel personally on the scene. Through the "time tunnel" to the "primitive ecological park", Zhengzhou in the Quaternary belongs to the subtropical climate, and the tall Saber Toothed elephant and rhinoceros are now in public.

Route: go north along Nanyang Road to the Yellow River scenic spot.

Take bus: take bus No.16 from Zhengzhou railway station or take bus line 1 from heyida and Zijingshan overpass to the scenic spot.

Tourists can visit the Yellow River scenic spot free of charge with tickets.
