Shoushazang Temple

Shousha monastery is one of the most famous monasteries in Ruili. The former abbot of Shousha monastery, elder wubingya wensa, is a famous Buddhist monk in the Theravada sect of Southern Buddhism, and enjoys high prestige among religious people.

Shousha Zang temple, surrounded by Phoenix and bamboo, banyan beard and other national characteristics, are the essence of Dai's architecture and the art treasure house of Dai culture. According to historical records in Dai language, it was once the capital of mengmao ancient country, and it is also said that it was the first place where mandarin ducks lived. Every Dai Festival, pilgrims and tourists come here to worship.

In 2002, elder wubianya wensa passed away, and the funeral of the elder, the ten thousand people laro parade and memorial society, was the largest, the highest standard and the largest number of participants in the history of Dehong Prefecture. Tens of thousands of people and their disciples from the border areas of China and Myanmar attended the memorial ceremony.

Shoushazang temple is a kind of dry column building, which is magnificent and beautiful, with colorful decoration. A tall statue of Sakyamuni sits cross legged on the Buddha's seat. It is graceful and dignified, with a kind face and five disciples standing beside it. On the top and four walls of the temple are painted mascots such as peacock, white elephant and unicorn, and on the beams are hung many colorful long flags, which are magnificent.
