Yongshou Temple

Yongshou temple is located on the West Bank of Jialing, Huafeng Township, wusheng County. It is a temple building.

Yongshou temple is across the river from Yankou town of the county seat. It is connected by Jialing River Highway Bridge. The car can go directly to the front of the temple and take the 100 level stone ladder to reach Yongshou temple.

Yongshou temple was first built in the second year of Xiangfu (1009) of Song Dynasty and continued in the second year of Chenghua (1466) of Ming Dynasty. Inside, there is the Great Hall of Dingxin and the hall of Dharma on the left. Hall three, single eaves Xieshan style, 11.06 meters wide, deep eight frame citron 13 meters. The structure of the beam frame adopts the method of reducing columns, so the hall is spacious. The ceiling is installed on the top of the hall. There are 12 caissons with painted flowers. The clay statues of the Buddha in the hall are quite exquisite, with three bodies of the Great Buddha, Ananda and Kaya, and eighteen Arhats, Manjusri and Puxian on both sides. After the Buddha, there is a body of Avalokitesvara with a thousand hands, sitting. There are painted Buddha statues on the wall of the hall. The temple was destroyed in the "Cultural Revolution", and only the whole site remains today.

Yongshou temple has been restored to its old style. Dignified and beautiful, the Grand Master of Guanyin in the hall seems to have experienced many vicissitudes, full of worries, and gazed at the world with wise eyes. The eighteen Arhats are different in shape, solemn and harmonious, and they feel cordial. There are transparent carved stone censers in the main hall. They are exquisite, lifelike, majestic and solemn, such as Buddha, JIAYE, Ananda, Manjusri, Puxian, etc.
