Former residence of Chen Shengshen

Located in the east of the campus of Nankai University, Chen Sheng's death residence was built in the 1980s. It was specially built to welcome the famous alumni and international mathematics master Chen Sheng Shen to teach in Nankai. It has a quiet and beautiful name, called "Ningyuan", which is named after Mr. Chen's wife, Ms. Zheng shining.

Chen Shengshen was admitted to Nankai University in 1926, taught in southwest United University in 1937, established Nankai Institute of mathematics in 1985, settled in Nankai University in 2000, and died in Nankai garden in 2004. Since the founding of Nankai Institute of mathematics in 1985, Chen Shengshen and his wife have lived in Ningyuan for a period of time every year. Since 2000, they have officially settled here.

On December 3, 2004, Chen Shengshen died. In 2011, Ningyuan was renovated and opened to the public every year on the anniversary of Chen's death to receive the memory of teachers, students and people from all walks of life.
