Zhang Ruiting's former residence is located at No.9 Huayuan Road, Heping District. It is now used by Tianjin Federation of industry and commerce. It was built in 1922. It is a Nordic characteristic building with two floors and partial three floors with basement and mixed structure, with a construction area of 2324 square meters.

The building has veranda on three sides. There are four octahedral columns with eight petal leaves in the hall, and the four columns are lined with fountain. The glass windows of the flower hall are inlaid with various colors of glass to form landscape pictures. The floor is paved with black and white marble. There are salons, restaurants and reception rooms on both sides of the hall. There is also a hall in the center of the second floor, surrounded by bedrooms and bathrooms. There are bedrooms and large platforms on the third floor. The interior eaves of the building are well decorated with 1.8-meter-high wall panels. The central roof is a curved mengsha roof, and the roof is made of ox tongue tiles. The square columns of the exterior eaves are painted with water.

Personage introduction

Zhang Ruiting (1878-1944) was born in Tianjin and took over Beiyang yarn mill in 1930. Born in a poor family in 1878, Zhang worked as a clerk for a shipowner in Xiaozhan at the age of 15. He often transported military supplies for Yuan Shikai's Xiaozhan camp, and developed to contract military uniform and clothing for the army. For example, the Northeast military uniform was all made by him. Zhang started from this and set up Hengyuan canvas company, which produced and supplied canvas cloth by himself. Later, he agreed to merge with Zhili cotton mill to form Hengyuan Textile Co., Ltd. (Hengyuan Textile Co., Ltd.) Yuan yarn factory). In 1930, Zhang took over the Beiyang yarn mill and became a famous industrialist. Zhang Ruiting is enthusiastic about education. He once supported the education fund of Nankai school with 100000 yuan. When Nankai school was built, the auditorium was named "Ruiting auditorium". Zhang died in 1944.
