It was built on March 15, 1949 and rebuilt on October 1, 1958. It covers an area of 3.33 hectares. Here are buried 500 officers and soldiers of the 39th battalion of the Chinese people's Liberation Army who died in the Tianjin campaign. There is a monument, a martyr's tomb and tombstone, a decorative stone and three exhibition rooms in the park. The inscription on the front of the monument is "the 39th army of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, the British monument to the war of liberation, built on March 15, 1949", and the inscription on the back is "immortal" and "rebuilt on October 1, 1958" The inscription on the monument was written by Li gengtao, the former mayor of Tianjin.
