Yilan Museum

Yilan County Museum is a local comprehensive museum, which is subordinate to the culture and Sports Bureau of Yilan County. It is located in wuguocheng Road, Yilan County, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, covering an area of 10000 square meters.

Development history

Yilan museum was founded in June 1958, known as "Yilan County Local Records Museum". It was on display in October of the same year and was forced to close during the cultural revolution. In 1998, in order to give full play to the advantages of Yilan County, Yilan county Party committee and government made the decision to build a new Yilan County Museum. In June 2001, Yilan County Museum was officially completed and exhibited. From 2008 to 2009, Yilan County Museum renovated and set up exhibitions, and reopened in June 2009.

In 2008, the county Party committee and the county government invested 3 million yuan to renovate the facade and indoor exhibition hall of the museum. The exhibition line was extended by 400 meters by means of cultural relics, sculptures of historical events, restoration of historical scenes, harmony, light and electricity. After the renovation, the newly added exhibition hall of Lu Houmin's photography art held a "photography exhibition of Mao Zedong's great talent" all year round. The photos on display were donated free of charge by Mr. Lu Houmin, former party secretary and vice chairman of China Photographers Association, vice chairman of China Federation of literary and art circles, and photographer of Comrade Mao Zedong. The exhibition shows the life experiences of great people from many aspects, many of which are published for the first time in China, attracting countless visitors.

There are basic display and special display. Basic display: ancient city civilization - Yilan historical relics display, hundred years of vicissitudes - Yilan modern anti feudalism, anti aggression and revolutionary struggle display; special display: LV Houmin photography art exhibition. Ancient city civilization: Yilan historical relics exhibition mainly introduces the 6000 year long history of Yilan. It is divided into nine parts: ancient civilization, hometown of Sushen, mountain city of Han and Wei dynasties, territory of Bohai Sea, tribes of five countries, origin of Nuzhen, watching heaven from a well, land of Longxing and border city of three surnames. Based on the unearthed and collected cultural relics, combined with materials, pictures and scenes, it shows an ancient city of Yilan with a long history, developed farming, abundant products, convenient transportation, and "three thousand miles north of the Great Wall, famous among the Sixteen States in the south of the Yangtze River".
