Baiyu Park

Baiyu park is a comprehensive ecological park in Qingshan District of Wuhan city. According to the geographical location and name characteristics of the park, the park is designed with Baiyu Pavilion, Yulan garden, Yanxi lake natural scenery belt, etc.

About the park:

Baiyu Park, founded in 1978, is located in Baiyu mountain area in the east of Wuhan City, covering an area of 150000 square meters, with a green space rate of 77.92%. It is a comprehensive ecological park in Qingshan District of Wuhan city. The park is adjacent to Yanxi lake, with beautiful natural scenery and simple and elegant garden buildings. Among them, the main building "Baiyu Pavilion" imitates the architectural style of Beijing school. The whole building is symmetrically distributed, with red columns and yellow tiles. The shape is combined with the posture of pagodas and pavilions. It is known as "Little Yellow Crane Tower" in the local area.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Baiyu Park was famous for its rich production of white orchid, jasmine and Pearl Orchid. At that time, Baiyu park not only provided the general public with Garden Recreation and flower viewing services, but also many citizens had tasted the flower tea made from these three kinds of flower materials. Flowers are fragrant on both sides of the river.

Since 2000, Baiyu Park, with the purpose of "improving the quality of gardens and serving the public with enthusiasm", has focused on the construction of garden landscape and gradually transformed and upgraded. In 2005, Wuhan invested in the renovation of the entrance square of Baiyu Park, and decided to cancel the park tickets

This move was well received by the public. From September 2017 to April 2018, under the guidance of "highlighting characteristic green plants", Baiyu Park invested in the construction of Yulan garden project. Nowadays, visitors can enjoy more than 300 Magnoliaceae plants such as magnolia, Magnolia (also known as Magnolia Magnolia) and Magnolia Erqiao in the magnolia garden every spring. In March and April, the purple and white magnolia flowers with elegant atmosphere. In different months of spring and summer, visitors can also enjoy the spring azalea, Zijiao flower, Hydrangea (Hydrangea), Portulaca oleracea and other shrubs and herbs in Yulan garden.

In addition to visiting Baiyu Pavilion, Yulan garden and other characteristic landscapes, tourists can also enjoy the natural scenery of Yanxi lake. In addition, more than 3000 osmanthus trees and more than 100 plum and Chimonanthus praecox trees have been planted in Baiyu park. The flowering period of Osmanthus fragrans is from September to October, and that of Chimonanthus praecox and Prunus mume is from December to February. Autumn and winter are also suitable for tourists to enjoy incense.

Baiyu park is located in Qinghua Road, Baiyu mountain, Qingshan District, Wuhan city. Baiyu mountain area is the second living area of WISCO. The park provides great convenience for the surrounding residents to play and exercise. From 2016 to 2018, Baiyu Park was designated as one of the compulsory tree planting sites in Wuhan for three consecutive years
