Located in the southeast of East Lake scenic spot in Wuhan City, the former Ma'anshan Forest Park is the flute playing scenic spot, which is famous for its beautiful natural scenery. It was prepared by Wuhan Municipal Bureau of landscape architecture in 1993, built and opened in 1995, returned to the jurisdiction of East Lake eco-tourism scenic area in 2006, and changed to its current name in 2013. The flute playing scenic spot is famous for its beautiful natural scenery. Scenic spots include bige mountain, kite mountain, Datun mountain, Jiashan mountain, Bijia mountain, Yuanjia mountain, Dashan mountain, Taiyu mountain, Chuidi mountain, Xujia mountain, diao'an mountain, Ma'anshan mountain, Zhaolong mountain, Bajia mountain, Tuan mountain, Miaowan mountain, Xiaochang mountain, Yujia lake, etc.

Development history

Folklore

According to folklore, as early as the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, the king of Chu Zhuang, who was determined to become the overlord of the princes, led his troops to fight with the Qin army here, leaving behind stories of "catching the thief and catching the king" and "walking through the Yang". It is said that Jiang Taigong, Zhao Zilong and Zhu Yuanzhang once left footprints and beautiful legends here. The Taiyu mountain and Chuidi mountain in the garden got their names. During the reign of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty, Yunyan temple was built on Taiyu mountain, which is as famous as Baotong temple and Jiufeng temple. It is said that it is large-scale and fragrant. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in the war during the reign of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. In the 12th Five Year Plan of Ma'anshan Forest Park, Yunyan Temple of East Lake has been planned to be rebuilt on the site, which will fill the gap that there is no temple in East Lake.

Name source

East Lake scenic area is located in the southeast of Wuhan East Lake scenic area. There is Piper mountain near the lake, and the scenic spot of Piper is named after it. Located in the eastern suburb of Wuhan, East Lake scenic area is bounded by Luoyu East Road in the south, East Lake in the north, Jiufeng port in the East and Yujia Lake in the West. It belongs to the national key scenic area - East Lake ecological tourism scenic area.

Construction history

The park was established in 1993 and officially opened to the public in 1995, with a total area of 713 hectares and an altitude of 136.02 meters. There are 17 peaks in the park, with 80% forest coverage. Ma'anshan, the main peak, is 136.02 meters above sea level. It is sunken in the middle and protrudes at both ends. It looks like a saddle, hence the name of the park.

In November 1993, the forest park has carried out and passed the overall planning expert argumentation, and started to formally embark on the road of construction. The infrastructure construction is implemented by stages. It is planned to build a large-scale suburban scenic spot with mountain forest vegetation as the main body, natural ecological type and idyllic scenery. There are four scenic spots in the park: Jiashan scenic spot, Ma'anshan scenic spot, Taiyu mountain scenic spot and Chuidi mountain scenic spot. The construction of Jiashan scenic spot started in November 1994, completed in May 1995, and opened to the public in June 1995. The main scenic spots include songgeping, camping barbecue area, monkey mountain, etc. And independently developed the unique business project of camping barbecue.

Since the forest park was partially opened to the outside world in 1995, it has been operated and managed at the same time of construction and development. In recent years, it has successively built infrastructure such as flower production base, pine lotus basin garden, tianyiyuan Villa Resort and so on.

In 2005, Wuhan built Jiufeng Urban Forest Reserve with "three parks and two mountains" such as Ma'anshan forest park. Great changes have taken place in the construction of the forest park as the core scenic spot, and the concept of "brilliant mountain flowers" has been introduced for the first time.

In August 2006, the forest park was transformed once again. As a "flute blowing scenic spot", it was assigned to Wuhan East Lake scenic spot from the Municipal Bureau of landscape architecture. It was officially upgraded from a former park scenic spot to a part of the national scenic spot "Dadong Lake". The Forest Park is also deeply loved by Wuhan citizens and tourists for its unique scenery, amusement projects and location advantages at the edge of the city They are favored by the people of Han Dynasty, and become a good place for them to visit, relax and return to nature. The annual number of tourists is about 500000.

Main attractions

The two ecological characteristics of forest and wetland are highlighted in the park, which embodies "nature, ecology, freshness and wildness". The vegetation in the park is mainly composed of coniferous forest dominated by Pinus massoniana and broad-leaved forest dominated by Cinnamomum camphora, Liquidambar formosana and Ligustrum lucidum.

Since its establishment in 1993, the park has formed six types of scenic forest, including plum blossom, peach blossom, bamboo forest, Rhododendron, crape myrtle and red leaf plum; it has built a beautiful "lakeside wetland" reserve and "Xiaotang spring scenery" with the theme of outing and exploring the spring; and "monkey Mountain" has raised more than 100 Monkeys in Wuhan. There are also self-service barbecue and forest sliding rope, bumper car, crescent car, forest racing, radium war and other recreational projects. The park receives about 600000 tourists annually, which is known as "Wuhan back garden" and "natural oxygen bar".
