Dongliu spring

Dongliu spring is one of the 72 new springs in Jinan.

Dongliuquan "shuijingzhu" said: "there is a spring under Tianchi mountain, named dongliuquan." Dongliuquan is named because it is 1km to the east of Hongfanchi. It is also called "academy spring" because Liu Yu, Zhongcheng in Ming Dynasty, built an academy here. In the Yuan Dynasty, Yan Shi, general manager of Dongping Road, built a villa here. Surrounded by mountains and springs, the environment is elegant and quiet, warm in winter and cool in summer, with mountain villages and small bridges and flowing water. It has been known as "Koizumi city" since ancient times, and is a good summer resort.

Dongliu spring is a square pool. It overflows from the rock gap at the foot of Tianchi mountain in the east of the village and flows into a stone square pool with a side length of about 8 meters. The algae in the pool are swaying and clear to the bottom. The spring flows all the year round, and the water potential is extremely strong. It is one of the most famous springs in Hongfan, with a daily water inflow of more than 8000 cubic meters. The spring water comes from many small springs at the bottom of the pool, falls from the stone dragon mouth on the south wall of the pool to a square small pool, and then flows into the semicircular pool. Then it sprays beads and jade, goes around the households along the xiaoxipan village, passes through the woods and flows into the Langxi river.

history

In the past, there was Hongfu temple in the north of the spring, and there were four Buddha statues in the temple. It was founded by the eminent monks of the Baima temple in Luoyang in the Tang Dynasty, such as halal, Wuming, huiseng and yuanseng. Now there are only two relics and two stone tablets of dongliuquan in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. According to local people, the four Buddha statues are the incarnations of the four eminent monks who founded Hongfu temple. They renovated the spring pool and built the river channel to benefit the villagers. Therefore, after their death, the villagers made statues as a memorial.
