Er Temple
Er temple is a monastery of Sakya sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is also called aiwangquedan temple. Located in Bairong village, Qumei Township, Shigatse City.
It was founded in 1429 by the 21st generation abbot of Sakya Monastery, Erqin gonggasanbo. After gonggesanbo, the Khenpo Dharma seat spread to the 75th generation. Every year, the Khenpo Dharma seat taught the monks in various Tibetan areas the Shami, Bodhisattva and bhikkhu precepts, and taught the Dharma and the three chapters of each sequel. There are five lazars in the temple, which are tazera, tangsala, ludendra, pendela and kangsera. Kanbu, one of the five largest lashkars, was appointed to fatai in turn, and Kanbu enjoyed the treatment of Hutuktu. In 1985, the Tibet Autonomous Region approved the restoration of the ER temple. After restoration, the ER temple has 5 lazhang, 2 Sutra halls, 11 pagodas and 1 Sutra hall, with 40 monks.
