About the park

The predecessor of fossil wood is pine, cypress, Chinese fir, gingko, birch and other trees that grew in the virgin forest 100 million years ago. These lifelike prehistoric fossils reproduce the body and texture of that year. They are important materials for studying the paleoclimate, crustal changes and paleontological history of East China. They are of high ornamental and research value and precious.

With the original features of Xinchang, such as "treasure house of silicified wood, complex Danxia landform, holographic archives of volcanic tuff", Xinchang National Geopark has more abundant contents and is a good place for scientific investigation.

Towering trees have become silent fossils, and dinosaurs have emerged, lived, multiplied and died out. This is just a spray in the long history.
