In 1514, Portuguese colonialists occupied Tuen Mun in the new territories of Hong Kong for seven years. The Portuguese army set up stone pillars carved with Portuguese national expedition to declare sovereignty in Tuen Mun. It also set up military barracks and execution grounds, made firecrackers, looted local people's property and engaged in human trafficking. Mr. Wang Zhen, the "vice envoy for Sea Patrol" of Guangdong Province, personally led more than 200 people to occupy the highland "jiujingshan" to expel. The Portuguese army retreated to the sea with warships, resisted tenaciously, and bombarded the Ming army with "Flemish machine gun" (battery) in an attempt to occupy the "Nantou city" of Dongguan county. Seeing that the situation was over, the Portuguese colonialists had to abandon most of the ships and take three ships to flee back to Macao.
