Wang's ancestral hall

Wang's ancestral hall, also known as Yuexu hall, was built in the early 15th century. Qianjin gatehouse basically keeps its original appearance. The beam frame has a typical Ming Dynasty style. The moon beam, fork hand, queti, pingpandou and other architectural components are exquisitely carved, with a high artistic level. Yuexu hall and Yuemu constitute one of the eight sceneries of Hongcun.

There are seven rooms in the main hall, a patio in the middle, a gallery in front and a drum stone beside the door. There are 70 feeding cloth columns, which belong to the construction of "full house columns". The four front eaves of the main hall are thick and prismatic. In the Ming Dynasty, the gold pillars were also shuttle shaped. The front eaves column and porch column all have "column bucket family", and between the stigma families there are "flat body family", which are two jump bucket arches. The front eaves are thicker than the gallery eaves. There are 16 stigma families and 18 flat body families. The connection between the curved beam and the column is supported by a T-shaped arch, and the arch eye is like a single cloud. The exquisite carving of Dou Gong, Liang Jia and Suo Zhu reflects the outstanding talent and artistic creativity of the ancient working people.
