Juyinsong

Juyinsong is located in Beihai scenic area of Huangshan Mountain in Anhui Province. It is the largest ancient pine at the top of Shixin peak. The other three pines are dead, only this pine has thick trunk and luxuriant branches. It grows vigorously.

Mount Huangshan Pine

Huangshan pine is vigorous, straight and impressive, but its bottom-up environment is extremely difficult. Many strange pines have no soil under them, so they have to take root in the cracks of granite. Because of steep cliffs and difficult rain retention, in order to find water source, the roots have to constantly dive into the water fault layer deep in the rock mass, so the length of the roots is often several times longer than that of the trees. In addition, the roots have to make such arduous efforts to absorb the nitrogen and phosphorus in the rock bit by bit, and take the potassium from the fleshy feldspar as the existing mineral. In this way, the Pinus taiwanensis survived. It was firmly rooted on solid rocks. It was not only unshakable by the wind, but also under constant snow pressure. It had deep roots and strong leaves, and was evergreen all the year round.
