The founders, Lin Wenren and Lin yangjinmei, used to search for their children's favorite houses, train models and all kinds of dolls during their busy business trips in Europe and America. By chance, we found pocket art in Holland. The concrete world deeply attracts people's attention and makes people love it. It also drives us to buy pocket houses, furniture decorations and other accessories everywhere, and enjoy the fun of decorating a dream home with our family.

At the same time, we have joined the international pocket art association, participated in various international exhibitions and auctions, and further collected more exquisite pocket art.

The superb technology and meticulous mind presented by these pocket works of art are even more amazing. No wonder in the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the art center of Chicago, the London museum, and the pocket art exhibition room are always the most crowded places for young and old tourists. So our hearts began to brew, hoping to bring this small world full of surprises back to Taiwan. one thousand nine hundred and ninety-three Since then, we have been actively planning to set up Taiwan's pocket Museum. We have visited Europe and the United States several times to seek works from pocket artists, or emotional intelligence. Pocket museums and collectors in various countries have given up their love. The museum has collected more than 200 pieces of collections, constantly increasing the richness and diversity of the museum's collections. At the same time, we have been actively cultivating local art creators to create Taiwan's unique pocket artworks Lead Taiwan to the international stage of pocket art and introduce Taiwan's precious culture and art to the world. About pocket

We use the word "pocket" to express "miniature" The "pocket house" is dollhouse. There is no proper Chinese translation for miniature arts, which is also called "pocket art". But in fact, the essence of Dollhouse Miniature is not depicted in pocket or pocket art. I think the reason why Dollhouse and roombox are so attractive and intimate is not only because the works are lifelike, but also because each work has a story in it and the author's attentive design makes the audience become the master of the story.

Standing in front of the works, we are unconsciously attracted by the works. If we enter the time tunnel, we may turn into characters hundreds of years ago, or fly across the space, find ourselves in Europe and the United States, and fully enjoy the dream of roaming time and space. Therefore, we also call the pocket Museum "the Museum of dreams", hoping that the audience's dreams will come true.

Modern works are the focus of collection

At the beginning of its creation, the museum mainly focused on European and American works, because Oriental can not find similar works of Museum level. The museum also focuses on modern works, because modern works are beautiful and clear in all aspects. Far from being classical works, they have more visibility and learning value.

The collection of this museum is all private collection. Except for some of them are from the United States and Canada, the rest are created by famous European and American writers.

Future prospects

Although the pocket house has a history of several hundred years in Europe, it is only thirty years since the establishment of the pocket art association in the United States. It can be seen that it is only this century that Americans are keen on it. Japan in the East established the association in 1996, but China is still in the dark. We hope to play an enlightening role in Taiwan through our existence. The goal is not only to appreciate, but also to encourage people to do their own work, so as to cultivate a family of young and old to enjoy the fun of pocket art together. For this purpose, the library will also plan learning courses, set up reference library, publish professional books and periodicals, etc

Overview of the exhibition hall

Located on Jianguo North Road, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, the pocket museum is the first museum in Taiwan and Asia to collect contemporary pocket art. There are more than 200 pieces of pocket art collected from all over the world. Its scale is second only to that of the United States, ranking second in the world.

The reason for the establishment of the pocket museum is that the curator Lin Wenren and his wife love to travel. When they travel to Amsterdam, they are attracted by exquisite and lifelike pocket works of art. Since then, they have begun to collect pocket works of art. Now the works in the pocket Museum, such as doll house, roombox, egg carving and so on, are gradually collected by the couple from the pocket museums and pocket exhibitions in seven countries in three and a half years.

Pocket art originated from the 16th century German court. It was originally a gift given to each other for the king's chambers. The materials and shapes were all made according to the real objects. From large buildings to small chandelier bulbs, they were strictly made according to a certain reduction ratio. The 12:1 of the real objects was the mainstream in the world. It was delicate and exquisite. It was deeply loved by the nobility. After it spread to the folk, it was popular in Europe and North America.

Walking into the pocket museum is like walking into a time tunnel. Tudor style buildings and Victorian style mansions are lifelike, and all the exhibits are exquisite. There is even a lot of research on the architecture, clothing, social background and racial class of the era. The works in the museum can be roughly divided into medieval European streetscape, Baroque architecture, Victorian architecture and American colonial mansion.

In addition to the exhibition area, the museum also has a gift area selling all kinds of pocket models, and is equipped with a coffee stand to facilitate visitors to rest.

Hidden on Jianguo North Road in Taipei city is a "pocket" secret base. There are British Buckingham Palace, Roman ruins and the pavilion of mirror bridge in the summer palace, and even snow white in the fairy tale world and the familiar phantom of opera. All of them are magnificently reduced according to the actual scale and arranged in a row of 1:12. The two sides of the pocket museum are full of striking billboards of financial institutions, which makes it particularly low-key and introverted. If passers-by don't pay special attention to it, it's hard to imagine that in an area of more than 660 square meters, there are more than 200 theme works from all over the world. The treasure of town hall -- rose Mansion

The spiritual symbol of the pocket museum is evolved from the appearance of rose mansion, the treasure of the museum. "Rose mansion" is the first large-scale doll house work brought from the west to the east by the pocket Museum. The author, Mr. Reginald Twigg, took this work as the research topic of his doctoral dissertation on architectural history. It took three years to produce it, and then finished the final decoration work in Taiwan. After its publication, the work was selected as one of the top ten outstanding works in the past 25 years by nutshell news, an international authoritative professional pocket art magazine. The architectural appearance of "Rose mansion" is a typical Victorian architecture, and the spiritual symbol of the pocket museum is to condense the architectural characteristics of "Rose mansion", symbolizing the delicate, realistic, dreamy, romantic and aesthetical spiritual presentation of pocket art.
