Shaanxi South Road

Shaanxi South Road is an important street at the junction of Huangpu District (formerly Luwan District), Xuhui District and Jing'an District in Shanghai, China. It runs from north to south, starting from Yan'an middle road in the north and reaching Zhaojiabang road in the south, with a total length of 2360 meters. It is 15 to 19.7 meters wide. Between 1915 and 1943, it was called arpelo.

The opening up of Shaanxi South Road began in 1911. It was the cross-border road construction of the Council of the French concession. The German medical school, the predecessor of Tongji University, was located here. The road was also named Avenue paulun after the German doctor Baolong, the founder of the University. After the expansion of the French concession in 1914, the road was included in the French concession. In 1915, the road was renamed Avenue Du ROI Albert by King Albert I of Belgium. The road is one of the north-south trunk roads running through the French concession. When Wang Jingwei took over the French concession in 1943, it was renamed Xianyang Road. It was renamed Shaanxi South Road in 1946.

Shanghai Rail Transit Line 1 is equipped with South Shaanxi Road station at the junction of South Shaanxi Road and middle Huaihai Road, Shanghai Rail Transit Line 10 is also equipped with South Shaanxi Road station at the junction of South Shaanxi Road and Nanchang Road, and Shanghai rail transit line 12 is also equipped with South Shaanxi Road station at the junction of South Shaanxi Road and middle Huaihai Road. The station is the main part of Shanghai Rail Transit Line 1, Shanghai Rail Transit Line 10 and Shanghai rail transit line 12 Underground Island Station and transfer station. After the opening of Shannxi South Road Station of line 12, the newly opened line 12 and line 10 can transfer between platforms, and the two lines can transfer quickly within a minute's walk. It takes about 3-5 minutes from the platform of line 12 to the platform of line 1; the longest transfer distance is from line 10 to line 1, which needs to arrive through the station hall of line 12, so the transfer time is relatively long, generally about 5-6 minutes.
