Xiangshan Zhaojin provincial scenic spot is located in Yaoxian County, Shaanxi Province, more than 40 kilometers away from the county seat, covering an area of about 312 square kilometers. It is the largest provincial scenic spot in Shaanxi Province. There are Xiangshan and Zhaojin revolutionary base in the scenic area. The scenic area is a well preserved natural secondary forest area with more than 250 species of wild animals and 800 species of plants. It has a unique landscape and a forest coverage rate of more than 85%.

The holy land of Buddhism

Xiangshan is located in Miaowan Town, northwest of Yaoxian County, between Liangshan and Qiaoshan mountains, with an average altitude of 1415 meters. The East, West and middle three peaks rise, which is called "Three Stone Mountain" in ancient times. Xiangshan is one of the eight sacred places of Buddhism in China. It is said that Princess Miaoshan cultivated herself and became a Buddha here (i.e. Guanyin Bodhisattva), so she is famous for her miraculous Bodhisattva. Xiangshan Temple began in Fu and Qin Dynasties, flourished in Yao and Qin Dynasties, and became a Buddhist resort in the southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui and Tang Dynasties. In the Song Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty, the Buddhist buildings with Baique temple, Longquan Temple, Shengguo temple, Qifeng cave, zhundi Taoist temple, Yongshan hall, yunya temple and other temples as the main body gradually formed. Now there are only Baique temple, Longquan Temple, Qifeng cave and the hall of Avalokitesvara.

Baique temple is located in the west of yaoyu village at the foot of Xiangshan mountain. There are three wooden rafters and green tile roofed buildings with a stone tablet in front of them. This is an earlier temple in Xiangshan. Longquan Temple was built according to the cliff situation, leaving only a clear spring and monochrome frescoes on the wall, telling the glory of the past. There is a famous Prince Temple in the north of the scenic spot, which is located in Sanzheng village of Dongchuan. There are caves of different sizes on the cliff. One of the caves used to house the statue of the crown prince of King Jingfan (ancient India), Sakyamuni before he became a monk, so it is called the Prince Temple. There are two pieces of double-layer murals of about 6 square meters on the rock wall nearby, which are proved to be from the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Qifeng cave is backed by a cliff, facing a precipice below, with a built-in gold statue of Avalokitesvara. Every year on the 10th day around the 15th of March and during the temple fair around the 15th of October, climbers gather here to burn incense and worship Buddha. During the NPC and CPPCC sessions, the scenery of mountains and fields may be pleasant in spring, unique in fragrance, or full of drunkenness and cool in autumn, which makes pilgrims and tourists come back with a clear mind and full load.

Geography and landscape

Xiangshan is located in the northern edge of Weibei Loess Plateau, located in the southern section of Qiaoshan, 45 kilometers away from Yaoxian County, and across Miaowan and Liulin. The geographical coordinates are between 108 ° 35 ′ 44 ″ - 108 ° 48 ′ 49 ″ E and 35 ° 01 ′ 47 ″ - 35 ° 18 ′ 32 ″ n. Xiangshan is 40 km away from Tongchuan New District and 110 km away from Xi'an. 70 kilometers southwest is Xi'an (Xianyang) Airport. The administrative region is under the jurisdiction of Yaozhou District of Tongchuan City.

Xiangshan scenic spot is slightly triangular, narrow in the north and wide in the south. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. Shitaling on the yaoxunjie in the north is the highest, with an altitude of 1720 meters; Xichuan estuary in Liulin in the southeast is the lowest, with an altitude of 858 meters and a relative elevation difference of 862 meters.

It is located in the north of Xiangshan scenic spot, and in the west of changshiling, Laoyeling, Naitoushan, xiangshanliang and the southern extension of Ziwuling in the broken mountain system. It is a loess covered Earth Rock Hilly Area. The mountain range is continuous, the ridge is undulating, the ravine is crisscross, the Sichuan Road is flat and broad. Daxiangshan, xiaoxiangshan, jiulongzhai, xuejiazhai, zhangguolaoya, etc. are precipitous, with a wall of thousands of feet. They are as powerful as iron walls, stretching for tens of miles, magnificent and magnificent.
