Linyi park is located at No. 3683 Dongfang Road, Pudong. It faces north from the South and is close to Pudong South Road in the West. In 1995, the total area of the park was 22100 square meters.

Brief introduction of the park

The site of the park used to be a low-lying land with a small village named Xiaohe Jiazhai. Due to the increasing number of houses nearby, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of capital construction decided to build the plot as a park in 1985. The overall planning and greening design of the garden project is in the charge of the municipal landscape design institute, and the construction is carried out by the Shanghai Branch of Shantou Second Construction Engineering Company, with a total investment of 3.13 million yuan. Construction started in July 1989, completed at the end of 1991 and opened in New Year's Day 1992.

Architectural features

The landscape design of the park absorbs some traditional gardening techniques of our country, but the garden buildings are modern forms with novel shapes. In the center of the park is a pond scenic spot with an area of 2900 square meters. The rectangular waterside pavilion in the west of the pool is surrounded by glass windows on all sides, external railings on both sides of the corridor, and a "fish watching platform" in the East and North. There is a small island in the south of the pool, surrounded by large stone revetments, on which 6 tall palms and some flowering shrubs are planted. In the southwest of the pool, there is a rockery of Dragon Ridge type, about 5 meters high, with six small peaks. The waterfall on the rockery winds into the pool through the stream, and the stone arch bridge across the stream forms the scenery of small bridge and flowing water.

Introduction to scenic spots

On the east side of the park, there is a concrete square pavilion with an area of 10.7 square meters. The top of the pavilion is overlapped with two rectangular cement slabs to form a "bu" shape. Under the pavilion are two unconnected stone walls in the southeast and a concrete column in the north. Inside and outside the pavilion are paved with hexagonal colored ceramic tiles, and beside the pavilion are planted with Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Albizia julibrissin, Podocarpus arvensis and other plants, so that the pavilion is hidden in the green.

In the southwest corner of the park, there is a concrete structure round pavilion with an area of 48.6 square meters. The top hill of the pavilion is composed of two arc-shaped cement slabs of different sizes and shapes. From the middle of the pavilion, there are three arc-shaped covers on the top. The bottom of the pavilion is also supported by a concrete column and two southeast walls. Inside the pavilion is a terrazzo floor.

In the northwest corner of the garden, there is a green corridor with sloping roof, columns and benches, which is 2 meters high, 4.2 meters wide and 28.7 meters long. The corridor is a concrete structure, with a slope shaped roof and half beams. One side of the corridor is supported by nine inclined columns. Wisteria is planted beside the columns, and cement benches are set between the columns.

Cinnamomum camphora, Cedrus deodara, juniper, Nerium indicum, Osmanthus fragrans, Lagerstroemia indica and sympodial bamboo are the main tree species in the park. Around the pool to plant Ginkgo biloba, red leaf plum, red maple and other color leaf species as a feature. The main lawn is surrounded by plastic trees, with flowering shrubs such as crabapple, Rhododendron, camellia, Photinia and Digang planted. There are 12 flower beds and 2500 square meters of lawn in the garden.

Playground

At the south end of the park, there is a children's playground, in which there are drilling cages, Liwu small slides, large turntable slides, aircraft turntables, Danghu boats and other amusement facilities. There are also sales department and tea room in the park.
