Shanghai Aviation Science Museum, located at No. 7900, humin Road, Minhang District, Shanghai, is a science popularization education base for the whole country, Shanghai and Minhang District, a propaganda base for China's large airliner project, an excellent service unit for Shanghai industrial tourist attractions, and a designated science popularization education base for the second phase curriculum reform of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.

"Shanghai Aviation Science Museum" is a special science museum in Shanghai. The 10000 square meter outdoor exhibition area has more than ten different types of physical aircraft, such as J-8 and DC-8. There are four indoor exhibition halls with a total area of 2000 square meters. Their themes are "approaching China's big aircraft", "tracing back to the history of aviation", "exploring the mystery of flight" and "innovative talent studio". There are also interactive exhibits such as a 3D ring screen studio and several flight simulators.

The center organizes various kinds of science popularization activities every year, such as: International Children's aviation drawing competition, Shanghai "aerospace Cup" static scale model competition, aviation science and technology summer camp, aerospace science popularization knowledge lecture, science popularization tour exhibition and "primary and secondary schools science popularization base" joint construction activities. Through these activities and permanent exhibitions, the scientific literacy of the general public and young students has been improved, and the China airliner project has been publicized.

Science museum opens

The former Shanghai Aerospace Science Popularization Center was upgraded to "Shanghai aviation science popularization Museum" after upgrading, and officially opened. In the outfield exhibition area, more than ten different types of aircraft, mainly Chinese military aircraft, are arranged in turn. In the indoor exhibition area, visitors can enter the 1:1 flight simulation cabin to restore the instrument and control equipment of the real aircraft cockpit, and fly the "aircraft" to take off and land at airports all over the world to experience the feeling of being a pilot.

Aviation Science Museum is located next to Jinjiang Park in Minhang District. It is jointly built by Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, COMAC and Shanghai aviation industry (Group) Co., Ltd. It is China's large aircraft science popularization base, Shanghai Special Science Museum, designated science popularization education base of the second phase curriculum reform and Shanghai Science popularization tourism demonstration base. The museum consists of 10000 square meters of outdoor exhibition area and 2000 square meters of indoor exhibition area. In the outfield exhibition area, more than 10 aircrafts, such as large jetliner DC8 and regional airliner il-14, are parked on the apron. They are not models, but real aircrafts. In addition to various kinds of aircraft, the museum also displays some of the most important real objects, including the only several Walter 4 - Ⅲ aero engines in China. As a precious aviation cultural relic, it is the treasure of Shanghai Aviation Science Museum. In the outfield exhibition area, the regional jet il-14 is particularly eye-catching, because Chairman Mao's special plane was this model. The aircraft has a wingspan of 31.7 meters, a length of 22.31 meters and a height of 7.8 meters. It is a twin engine medium and short-range airliner developed by the former Soviet Union.

It is reported that citizens can visit the aviation science museum throughout the year, located at 7900 humin road.
