Hongqiao riverside park is located in the West plot of 2080 Changning Road, Changning District, Shanghai Huacheng (phase III) in the East, Changning Road in the south, and Suzhou River in the West and North.

Hongqiao Riverside Park covers an area of about 28000 square meters. According to the flow direction of Suzhou River, the shape of the plot is in an inverted "L" shape. It is 210 meters long along the east-west direction of Suzhou River and 240 meters long along the south-north direction of Suzhou River. The original site of the project is the Western plant area of national cotton 21 plant and a few other units and residential buildings.

The park takes the special role and contribution of Suzhou River in the historical development of Shanghai as the main connotation of the park. It plans the park with the dual significance of space recreation and social education, and uses the development mode of Western River living environment for reference to create a humanistic living space with Shanghai characteristics, so as to face the public with a brand-new riverside park. According to this theme, the whole park is surrounded by Suzhou River. In addition to the tree lined footpath, flower gallery and big lawn, Suzhou River Memorial Hall will be built. Flood control channel and pedestrian path will be set along Suzhou River, and municipal supporting facilities will be planned. The greening rate of the whole park is more than 70%.

The construction of the park is conducive to improving the ecological environment, speeding up the pace of environmental transformation along the Suzhou River, changing the appearance of zhoujiaqiao old area in Changning District, building a new landscape in the west section of Changning Road, and providing a place for leisure and entertainment activities for nearby residents.
