Xianzhao Temple

Xianzhao temple is located on the top of Shiyan mountain, Shushan street, Xiaoshan District. It was built in the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1131-1162). It means "the light of the rising sun shines on this temple first", so it is named. It was rebuilt by Seng Fuyun during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1875-1908) and razed to the ground in 1966. Since the end of 1980s, the folk fund-raising has been gradually rebuilt and expanded. There are 55 buildings with an area of more than 3000 square meters, including Daxiong hall, Tianwang hall, Zhonggulou, Wofo hall, pharmacist hall, Yuantong hall, zhaifang, guest room, etc. A new diamond Pagoda with seven stories and octagons, 28.85 meters high, will be built. The current host is master Sijian.

More than two thousand years ago, the Buddha wanted to spread the nectar Dharma of liberation to the human world, and then all the ancestors passed on each other, and the lights continued to shine on each other to break the crowd. In the process of carrying forward the Dharma, he vowed to assist the government to grant amnesty, to protect the Dharma, to carry forward the Dharma, to govern the way, to master the Dharma, and to be virtuous. The Buddha once pardoned the boundless saints, and often went to the world to protect the Dharma. The Buddha's interpretation of Brahma brought good luck, increased well-being, eliminated Tao karma, increased achievements, three gates of silence, health and beauty. And make the wind and rain to elbow, the country is peaceful and the people are in peace, Zhengfa Chongxing.

In history, Xianzhao temple is full of incense, which is also the place that scholars yearn for. Loulike in Yuan Dynasty, Liu Ji, Fang Yigui, Shen Huan, Lai Sanpin and Lai Risheng in Ming Dynasty, Wang Zongyan, Fu Dingyi and Cai Zhongguang in Qing Dynasty all left a lot of historical traces and songs. Tang Jinchuang studied hard in this temple when he was young. Later, he got a Jinshi in the middle and tired the five ministers of the Qing Dynasty. He did not forget to go to the temple first. He specially revisited and stayed in the temple at night. He wrote a poem of seven rhythms in sushiyan Xianzhao Temple. Today, there is an ancient well in front of the Daxiong hall and a fragrant spring behind it. They are all relics of the Ming Dynasty. During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Hong Zhu, the governor of Shaoxing, wrote "fragrant spring" in calligraphy. Built in the Ming Dynasty, the southeast view Pavilion of the temple is one of the "eight sceneries of Xianghu Lake". It was destroyed during the Anti Japanese war. Today, one hexagonal stone pavilion is rebuilt with a panoramic view of the three rivers.
