Statue of Tianlong Temple
The statue of Tianlong temple is located at the south foot of Yuhuang mountain in Hangzhou City, above baiyun temple. It was carved in the third year of Qiande in the Northern Song Dynasty. There are three niches in total. There are seven statues in the main niches, with Maitreya Buddha in the middle. There are flame patterns on the back, head light and body light.
On both sides are the Buddha of dharmalin and the Bodhisattva of damiaoxiang, and on both sides are the statues of the powerful man. Two flying Apsaras are embossed on the lintel. The West niche is Amitabha Buddha (Amitabha Buddha). It is a full sitting posture with eyes closed for meditation. There are also flame patterns on the back, head light and body light. East niche for shuiyueguanyin (Guanzi Bodhisattva), face plump, quiet and colorful. The statue of Tianlong temple is one of the representatives of Wuyue statue art with vivid shape and exquisite carving. On April 23, 1986, it was announced as the first batch of municipal cultural relics protection units by Hangzhou Municipal People's government.. On May 25, 2006, together with the statues of ciyunling and yanxiadong, they were included in the second batch of feilaifeng statues under the national key cultural relics protection as the statues of Nanshan in West Lake.
