TangYun Art Museum, officially opened in May 1999, is located on the south line of West Lake, adjacent to Changqiao Park in the south, wansongling in the East, LIULANG Wenying in the north and Leifeng in the West. It is an antique Jiangnan garden style building. There are 38 Works of Mr. Tang Yun, 106 paintings and calligraphy, 51 Manson pots and other related documents in the museum.

There are 195 pieces of art treasures donated by Tang Yun's family to Hangzhou Municipal People's Government (including 38 Works by Tang Yun, 106 calligraphy and painting collections, 51 Manson pots, etc.) and relevant documents of Tang Yun.

TangYun art museum is also an important window for the West Lake Scenic Area and Hangzhou to carry out cultural exchanges with foreign countries. So far, many colorful exchange and exhibition activities have been held, especially the art series of "meet Xizi Lake" held for five consecutive years since 2002, which has been identified as "the cultural brand of Hangzhou".

Tang Yun Art Museum has formed a brother museum with Xu Beihong Memorial Museum, Guan Shanyue Art Museum and Zhu Qizhan Art Museum, and has established extensive contacts with famous domestic art academies and academic groups such as the Central Academy of fine arts, China Academy of fine arts, Lu Xun Academy of fine arts, Tianjin Academy of fine arts, Xi'an Academy of fine arts, Guangzhou Academy of fine arts, Shanghai Academy of Chinese painting and Beijing Academy of fine arts. In 2004, he signed a long-term exchange agreement with the Korean Literati Painting Association.

TangYun art museum is a public welfare cultural institution, covering an area of 3500 square meters. After the West Lake South line project, it increased to 7000 square meters. In April 1999, it was approved by Hangzhou municipal government as a separate institution, and officially opened on May 16 of the same year.

At present, there are 195 pieces of art treasures donated by Tang Yun's family to Hangzhou Municipal People's Government (including 38 Works by Tang Yun, 106 paintings and calligraphy, 51 Manson pots, etc.) and relevant documents of Tang Yun. Over the past seven years, through various art exchange activities, the collection of the museum has increased to more than 700 pieces.

The establishment of Tang Yun Art Museum aims to carry forward the outstanding achievements of Tang Yun, a contemporary master of Chinese painting in calligraphy and painting, and his spirit of love and dedication to his hometown. It is an important window for the West Lake scenic spot and Hangzhou to carry out cultural exchanges with foreign countries. So far, it has closely cooperated with the central work of Hangzhou municipal Party committee, Hangzhou municipal government and West Lake scenic area, held many colorful exchange and exhibition activities, and achieved extensive social impact.

Among them, the most influential ones are: in 1999, in order to welcome Macao's return, the "invitation exhibition of Chinese lotus and Chinese painting masters" was held; in 2000, the "invitation exhibition of contemporary painting and calligraphy masters" and the "West Lake New Millennium International Painting and Calligraphy Seminar" were held; more than ten provinces, cities, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, as well as the United States, France, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and other countries participated in the exhibition Famous artists have made in-depth discussion on the development direction of today's art, splashed ink on the Bank of Xizi lake, and jointly created several masterpieces such as "wild lotus pond" and "picturesque rivers and mountains".

In order to celebrate the completion of the south line of West Lake in 2002, more than 100 painters from all over the country took part in the "meet Xizi Lake" painting West Lake Art series activities. On the afternoon of October 11, more than 100 painters from all over the country devoted themselves to the picturesque "portraits" of lakes and mountains. After nearly two hours of passionate creation and joint cooperation, the artists who have long enjoyed high reputation in landscape, figure, flower and bird fields respectively A panoramic picture of the West Lake with a length of 100 meters was created by the lake. Wang Guoping, Secretary of the municipal Party committee, spoke highly of the success of the event many times.

In October 2003, the "meeting Xizi Lake" contemporary Chinese painting creation and Evaluation Seminar and "Chinese painting art committee members' Works Exhibition" were held in Hangzhou for the first time as one of the most influential activities in the field of traditional Chinese painting. More than 30 members of the Chinese Painting Art Committee of the China Artists Association attended the event. At the meeting, artists discussed the evaluation standards of contemporary Chinese painting works in combination with the reality of current Chinese painting creation. At the same time, they pointed out that as the judges of the art competition, how to grasp the standard of evaluation is very important for the healthy development of art.

In May 2004, a series of activities for the fifth anniversary of the establishment of TangYun art museum was held. Artists from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Britain and Japan came to the museum to participate in the activities. Some artists donated their collections. The prosperous development of TangYun Art Museum in the past five years has been recognized by all walks of life. In September, the exhibition of members' works of Hangzhou Xihu Academy of traditional Chinese painting art was held, which is the designated exhibition of the 7th China Art Festival and the 10th National Art Exhibition, with a total of 80 works on display. In the middle of the month, the exhibition of exchange of Chinese and Korean literati paintings was jointly held with the Korean Literati Painting Association. Under the leadership of President min Lizhi, 30 artists from South Korea and experts from Hangzhou Xihu Institute of traditional Chinese painting art held a grand opening ceremony at TangYun Art Museum and had academic exchanges.
