Bao'an Gymnasium

Baoan gymnasium is located on the main axis of urban landscape in Baoan Central District of Shenzhen. It is one of the three landmark buildings in the new central district. The conceptual scheme design adopts the scheme of French civic company Mr. Mooney. The construction drawing design is designed by Shenzhen Architectural Design Institute, invested by the government, organized by Bao'an urban construction company, and undertaken by Shenzhen Branch of China Railway Construction and Broadcasting Bureau.

Baoan District Sports Center is a comprehensive public welfare sports facilities invested by Baoan District government, including gymnasiums, stadiums and swimming pools. The total investment scale is about 1.693 billion yuan, and the total area is about 213300 square meters.

Main facilities: National Fitness square, badminton hall, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, indoor and outdoor tourist venues, tennis courts, football fields, track and field fields.

It is composed of two stadiums and two stadiums (i.e. stadium, tennis court, gymnasium and natatorium), with a total construction area of 238300 square meters and four departments including comprehensive management department, natatorium management department, gymnasium management department and stadium management department.

The natatorium covers an area of 88700 square meters, with a construction area of 71000 square meters. It has 4200 auditoriums, 498 outdoor parking spaces and 412 underground parking spaces. The gymnasium covers an area of 80000 square meters, with a building area of 47400 square meters. It has 8188 auditoriums and 20 outdoor basketball courts outside. It has 312 parking spaces. The stadium covers an area of 120000 square meters, with a total construction area of 98000 square meters, a basement area of 26000 square meters, 40000 auditoriums and 1000 parking spaces. The tennis court covers an area of 20000 square meters, with a total construction area of 21900 square meters and 60 parking spaces.

Bao'an gymnasium is located on the main axis of urban landscape in the new Central District of Shenzhen city. It is one of the three landmark buildings in Bao'an central district.

The conceptual scheme design adopts the scheme of French civic company Mr. Moni, and the Shenzhen Branch of China Railway Construction Bureau undertakes the construction. Construction started on March 5, 2001 and completed on June 30, 2002, which lasted for 16 months. It covers an area of 80000 square meters, building area of 47400 square meters, main body height of 31 meters, 5960 fixed seats, 2228 movable seats, a total of 8188 seats. The inner circle of the whole museum is 102 meters in diameter, with large-span steel roof truss structure and large-area glass curtain wall. Outside the museum is a granite square of more than 50000 square meters, with a total investment of 460 million yuan. It is the largest gymnasium in Shenzhen and the main competition venue for the Provincial Games. It can hold basketball, volleyball, table tennis, gymnastics and other events. It is a good place for sports activities, artistic performances, large-scale gatherings, exhibitions and sales.

Awards

Baoan gymnasium is one of the award-winning projects of China Construction Engineering Luban Award (national high quality project) in 2003.
