Hu Gong Temple

Hugong temple is located at the top of Jingong rock. It is a temple built according to the cave. The cave is more than 60 meters wide, 10 meters deep, 8 meters high and covers an area of 1500 square meters. In 1931, it was burned down by the war, leaving only the main hall. In 1985, local villagers donated money for reconstruction.

Hu Gong, named Hu Ze, was born in a scholarly family in huku, Yongkang. According to legend, master Hu had been married for several years and was not pregnant, so he and his wife often prayed to Buddha for a son. One day, goddess Guanyin turned into a miserable old woman and came to beg. Hu's wife was very sympathetic. She not only served meat, but also gave clothes and silver. After the old woman left, a peach suddenly appeared on the table. Master Hu seemed to realize that he let his wife eat Xiantao, and soon he was pregnant. In October, Hu's wife went to the toilet one day and gave birth to a son. Master Hu is happy but sad. How could his son be born in a dirty toilet? In his chagrin, he blurted out: "let's call it Hu toilet!" when Hu toilet grew up to 3 years old, he was smart and charming. He became a monk when he was 4 years old. When she was 12 years old, her mother also became a monk and went to Buddha to clean her son's body, and let her son go back to Fangyan Wufeng academy to study. Hu toilet face wall study hard, literary talent outstanding, finally won the title. When he saw the emperor, the emperor said, "the original name is ugly. It's better to call it HuZe!" the Emperor gave the name, and HuZe was very happy. For Xie longen, HuZe was honest and clean all his life, benefiting the common people, and became famous all over the world.

In memory of Hu Ze, at the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, the people of Wuyi built a hall in the giant cave of jingongyan, where Hu Gong became a monk and cleaned himself. The cave is also called Hu Gong cave. There are statues of Hu Gong and his wife, as well as the God of wealth, Zhang Tianshi and Taoist of Maoshan. After the completion of Hugong temple, the people of Bawu often paid homage to it, and the incense flourished.
