On December 14, 2019, with the opening of the theme exhibition "no smoking hero Lin Zexu", the new museum of Lin Zexu's former residence in Fuzhou, a cultural security unit in Xicheng District, was officially opened to the public after renovation. A reporter from Beijing Youth Daily learned from the culture and Tourism Bureau of Xicheng District that the renovation of seven retired cultural relics, including the Beijing News hall, will start.

Fuzhou new hall, located at No. 51, luomashi street, Xicheng District, was built in 1816. It was purchased by Lin Zexu and Fujian officials in Beijing. It was also an important venue for Lin Zexu's activities during his seven years in Beijing. Like many cultural relics, the new Fuzhou Museum later became a courtyard with dozens of residents. In 2018, the Beijing municipal government decided to protect the new Fuzhou Museum. This year, the new Fuzhou museum will be renovated and used as a drug control education base in Beijing.
