Beijing Shooting Gallery

Beijing Shooting Gallery is located at No. A3, Futian temple, Shijingshan District, Beijing, with the Fifth Ring Road in the East, the Asian TV production center in the west, Xiangshan South Road in the south, and Cuiwei mountain in the north. It is the venue for rifle, pistol and mobile target events in Beijing Olympic Games.

The Beijing shooting range was started on July 13, 2004 and completed on July 28, 2007. The building area is about 45645 square meters, with 8000 seats. Beijing Shooting Gallery is the largest all-weather shooting competition venue with the largest number of targets and the most all-weather shooting events in China.

In October 2003, Tsinghua Design Institute stood out from the bidding scheme of 10 Beijing shooting ranges.

Construction process

On July 13, 2004, the Beijing shooting range was first built on the side of the West Fifth Ring Road in Beijing, adjacent to Xiangshan South Road in the South and Cuiwei mountains in the north. In March 2006, the double-layer glass curtain wall began to be installed. The building complex of Beijing shooting gallery includes qualification competition hall, final hall, permanent gun magazine, armed police room, refrigeration and heat exchange room, transformer and motor room and other supporting facilities. On July 28, 2007, the owner of Beijing shooting range, the General Administration of sport, delivered the golden key symbolizing the delivery to the shooting center of the General Administration of sport, marking the formal acceptance and delivery of the range.

Beijing Shooting Gallery is the largest all-weather shooting competition venue with the largest number of targets and the most all-weather shooting events in China. There are 80 groups of 50 meter target, 14 groups of 25 meter target, 96 groups of 10 meter air gun target, 6 groups of 10 meter moving target, and 10 final competition target.

There are 256.8 meters of through (pillar free) indoor space in the east-west direction of the auditorium on the second and third floors of the qualification hall, which is the longest indoor space of sports buildings in China, and can enable each shooter to have the same conditions of competition space. In addition, the pillarless hall also allows the audience in each position to see the game without obstacles.

In the second floor competition area of qualification competition hall of Beijing shooting range, the one-way prestressed hollow floor with the largest span of similar structure in China is adopted, and the thickness is 700mm. This technology not only successfully realizes the large-span indoor pillarless competition field, but also gives the floor of the venue a very good anti vibration effect. Such a thick floor has a very good shockproof effect, and the floor vibration is very small, so it will not interfere with the athletes' competition.

The "electronic target timing and scoring system" installed in the shooting hall is the most advanced shooting competition timing and scoring system in the world. The system adopts ultrasonic positioning technology and multimedia information technology, which can automatically collect shooting information, accurately score, real-time statistics and display shooting scores of each target. The electronic target timing and scoring system of the final hall can also display the impact point of each target in real time. The accuracy of performance statistics and the integrity of retained information are the most advanced of similar venues in the world.

Design features

Eliminating noise skillfully

In order to maintain a relatively quiet competition environment, Beijing Shooting Gallery has carried out an all-round scientific noise elimination project, using a large number of sound insulation, sound absorption and noise elimination materials. The wood wire panels in the museum can not only absorb sound, keep warm, but also prevent bouncing.

Natural lighting

In the audience seat on the second floor, there is a light at the center of each target in the distance. But this light is not the spotlight in the museum, but the natural light. In addition to the ventilation roof window, a layer of metal plate is also installed in the outdoor space. The metal plate reflects the natural light from the outside to the target neatly. With the accurately calculated reflection angle, the light is uniformly reflected on the target surface 1.4 meters away from the ground.

Fully air conditioned competition space

Due to the heavy competition clothes that shooters wear in competitions, it is often very hot in summer. So at the beginning of the design, the shooting range considered this point. Through the three-dimensional space air distribution, under the premise of ensuring direct communication with the outdoor, the indoor part of the air-conditioned environment is realized, creating good conditions for athletes. Indoor space and outdoor space are separated by an invisible and intangible "air wall". This wall is called "wind curtain" by professionals. "Wind curtain" from top to bottom, three-dimensional flow, neither let the outdoor hot air into the museum, nor let the indoor cold air away.

Function

At the beginning of the design, the shooting range has left enough space for the use after the game. The staff of Beijing shooting gallery said that after the Beijing Olympic Games, it will become a training place for the national shooting team, and people will have the opportunity to use this beautiful building.

After the renovation of some temporary facilities in Beijing Shooting Gallery, it will be possible to open to the outside world, become a place for fitness, shopping, leisure and entertainment, become a base for national defense education and promotion of public shooting sports, and become a shooting Museum for publicizing the Olympic spirit.
