Jiuxiao Wanfu Palace

Jiuxiao Wanfu Palace (referred to as jiuxiao palace, commonly known as Dinggong), a famous Taoist temple, is located at the top of Damao peak, the main peak of Maoshan mountain in Jurong, Jiangsu Province, with an altitude of 372.5 meters. It was founded in the Western Han Dynasty after Sanmao Zhenjun was promoted to the throne. In the third year of Yanhu reign in the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1316), it was granted the grant of ershenghu temple to worship Maoying. In the 26th year of Wanli reign in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1598), it was granted the title of jiuxiao Wanfu palace.

Overview of the palace

Jiuxiao palace is located in the south of the north. In its heyday, there were two pavilions of Sutra collection and Shengshi, five halls of Taiyuan, gaozhen, Ersheng, Lingguan and Longwang, six Taoist courtyards of Yuxiang, raoxiu, qiayun, zhongbi, Lizhen and Yihu, and more than a hundred Yings on both sides of daoshe and Hakka halls. The whole palace is magnificent and magnificent. After the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the late Qing Dynasty, the Anti Japanese War, the cultural revolution and so on, the whole Taoist palace was destroyed.

The existing buildings of jiuxiao palace have been rebuilt in recent years. There is a square in front of the palace and a mountain gate in the East and West. The first entrance is Lingguan hall, and the main building is taiyuanbao hall. Behind the hall is Taiyue feisheng. The first hall behind the hall is ershengdian. There are white crane hall, yangzhenxian hall, Yingxu Taoist temple, flower hall, Yihu Taoist temple, daoshe, Zhaitang and other buildings on the left and right. They are built on the basis of the mountain It's on. There are many Taoist cultural relics in the palace today, among which the most famous is the first four treasures - jade seal, jade GUI, jade Fu and ha inkstone, which were given to Taoist Liu hunkang by song zhezong.

Jiuxiao palace is the seat of Jiangsu Taoist Association, Zhenjiang Taoist Association, Maoshan Taoist Association and Maoshan Taoist Culture Research Office.
