PLA force building in Hong Kong

It is a building in central, Hong Kong. It was completed in 1979. At present, it is the building of the PLA forces in Hong Kong. It is part of the central barracks of the PLA forces in Hong Kong. Before Hong Kong's sovereignty was transferred back to China, it was the headquarters of the British garrison in Hong Kong, known as the prince of Wales building. At midnight on June 30, 1997, the defense handover ceremony between China and Britain was held here. At 0:00 on July 1, the PLA officially took over the building.

In May 2000, the Legislative Council of Hong Kong passed the "forbidden zone for military installations (Amendment) Order 2000", which officially changed its name to the PLA force building in Hong Kong on January 1, 2002.

The building looks like a wine glass. The bottom is in the shape of a funnel inclined inward, which has the function of defending the invasion of outsiders.

In the future, a military wharf will be built on the North waterfront of the building, and a military vehicle channel will be built to connect with the building.

The PLA garrison building in Hong Kong is one of the buildings participating in the large-scale lighting and music show "colorful singing of Xiangjiang".
