Located on the South Bank of Xixi River, the Confucius Temple in Suixi is magnificent, ancient and beautiful. Originally known as Xuegong, it was built in the Southern Song Dynasty and underwent repair and transformation in the dynasty. The buildings in the city are in the style of the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period. Construction background

According to the records of "Suixi County annals · Xuegong", the Confucius Temple in Suixi, formerly known as Xuegong, was built in the Southern Song Dynasty and underwent repair and transformation in the dynasty, with a large scale. Suixi Confucius Temple, the second largest Confucius Temple in China, has a long history and a large scale. It is said that the head of the statue of Confucius in the Confucius Temple was made in Qufu, Shandong Province according to the imperial decree and sent to Suixi. This shows that the construction of the Confucius Temple in Suixi was not only approved by the imperial court, but also predestined with Qufu. The Confucius Temple in Suixi is not only a witness of the profound history of Suixi, but also a crystallization of the wisdom of Suixi ancestors.

Due to historical reasons, the Confucius Temple in Suixi was completely demolished in 1978. For many years, people have been calling for the reconstruction of the Confucius Temple. In order to inherit the Confucian culture and carry forward the excellent traditional ideas, the Party committee and government of Suixi County re planned the construction of the Confucius Temple in Suixi, and built the Confucius cultural city with the Confucius Temple as the theme. In 2010, the Sixth Plenary Session of the eleventh session of Suixi County Party committee explicitly included the construction of Suixi Confucius cultural city in the planning of "ten projects of building a strong cultural county"; in 2011, the seventh plenary session of the eleventh session of Suixi County Party committee once again emphasized the planning and construction of the Confucius cultural city.

In order to further explore the historical evolution of Suixi Confucius Temple and the internal relationship between the construction of Suixi Confucius Temple and the descendants of Confucius, the investigation team of Suixi County went to Qufu, Shandong Province in June 2011 to study and investigate, and closely exchanged opinions on the reconstruction of Suixi Confucius Temple. The leaders and descendants of Confucius in Qufu agreed with the reconstruction of the Confucius Temple, and enthusiastically introduced the cultural resources of Confucius in Qufu, saying that Qufu ancient architectural design institute is one of the three major ancient architectural design institutes in China, which has strong technical force and can provide technical support.

The construction of Confucius cultural city affects the hearts of Suixi people. On June 28, 2015, Suixi County Party committee and government established the preparation headquarters of Confucius cultural city. The first phase started construction on July 3 of that year. It is divided into eight areas: Nanmen square area, Confucius culture area, children's recreation area and Suixi historical and cultural area. It is reported that the project is divided into three phases. The first phase is 1380 mu (land 930 mu, water surface 450 mu), the second phase is 1620 mu, and the third phase is 15000 mu. It is a cultural city integrating tourism, culture and education, leisure and vacation, ecological experience and religious worship. It is characterized by magnificence, atmosphere and ecology.

In the second phase, it is planned to build a large parking lot, Confucius Institute, hotel and tourism, leisure and sports field, international cultural industrial park and forest garden. The third phase takes the ecological restoration of fenglang River as an opportunity to build a 6 km water sightseeing cruise project throughout the year.

"With the progress of the project construction, people began to see the hope of the completion of the Confucius Cultural City, and many people turned from doubt to support." Deng xiongdong, general manager of Suixi Tourism Investment Co., Ltd., Guangdong Province, said that local village cadres also took the lead in donating all the compensation for 10 mu of land to support the construction of Confucius cultural city. Some retired teachers also volunteered at the construction site, and many villagers took their own vegetables and poultry to the construction site to reward the construction workers, which is enough to show the villagers' affirmation of the construction of Confucius cultural city And support.

Construction status

Confucius cultural city is an important project to expand the capacity and improve the quality of Suixi County in Zhanjiang City, and it is also a project to benefit the people.

On June 28, 2015, the project construction headquarters was officially listed, and the project construction soon entered the white hot stage. In less than a year, the roads, water bodies, greening, Xingtan square, comprehensive sports ground and other supporting projects in Suixi Confucius cultural city have been basically completed; the south gate and supporting projects have been completed; the main projects of Confucius Temple, Wenchang Pavilion and Xingtan have been started.

Scenery

The electric car sightseeing road in the Confucius cultural city has been completed, with 12 kinds of saplings such as Shanghai red beans, camellia, Rhododendron and cherry blossoms planted on both sides, adding a sense of green and vitality to the loess land. Take a ride around the Confucius cultural city for about 20 minutes. The stone foundations on both sides of the road have been paved and the sidewalks have been built. Referring to the spring and autumn and Warring States period," stone "refers to the processing and building of underground basalt," water "refers to the water area of about 450 mu, accounting for 1 / 3 of the total area," green "refers to the surrounding flowers and trees. The reconstruction of Confucius Temple

At the beginning of January 2017, everything was updated. After more than five months of intensive construction, the Dacheng Hall of Suixi Confucius Temple was successfully capped on the first day of the new year, marking that all the main works of the temple have been completed.

At 9:28 a.m. on January 1, 2017, Su Chen, Ou Wei, Chen Tuwang and other leaders and construction personnel jointly poured the last shovel of concrete on the golden roof of the Dacheng Hall of the Confucius Temple. After that, the main works of the Dacheng hall have been completed, marking that the main buildings of the Confucius Temple have been successfully completed. The next step is to enter the stage of exterior decoration and interior decoration, and all the projects are expected to be completed around may 2017.

The reconstructed Confucius Temple in Suixi is 236 meters long and 100 meters wide, covering an area of 23600 square meters. It is composed of Wenjin bridge, Lingxing gate, panchi, Dacheng gate, Dacheng hall, Chongsheng pool, dongxiwei and Confucian lecture hall.

The construction of Confucius cultural city aims to reproduce the classic human landscape of Confucian culture. The planning aims at 5A scenic spots, and creates a tourism project integrating tourism, leisure, and Confucian culture education.

The city has a magnificent atmosphere. The Confucius temple covers an area of more than 40 mu, with a pilgrimage Avenue 12 meters wide and 400 meters long. The south gate covers an area of nearly 70 mu, and the Luguo street is nearly 1000 meters long.
