Fengjing memorial archway

Historically, half of Fengjing ancient town belongs to Jiangsu and half to Zhejiang. There were two obvious demarcation marks, one was the boundary river in the west, and the other was the memorial archway in the East. The memorial archway was built on the site of the original demarcation archway, representing the unique geographical area of Fengjing ancient town.

This tall antique archway, above the striking "Fengjing" two words, is the title of the old master of traditional Chinese painting Cheng Shifa. The whole archway is 12 meters high and 14 meters wide, with three rooms and four pillars, very tall and graceful. Exquisite traditional patterns are carved on the beam and column bases of the memorial archway, and four gold-plated couplets are hung on the front and back of the four skyrocketing columns. The contents mainly reflect the history, humanities, customs and folk customs of Fengjing, so that tourists can have a brief understanding of the rich historical and cultural connotation of Fengjing as soon as they enter the gate, just like the opening introduction of a great work.
